Gatherings at the Nambour Men’s Shed are all about community, mateship and giving it a fair go!

Every Thursday the Nambour Men’s Shed (QLD) dedicates time exclusively to members living with a disability.

Here, community members and their support workers are given the opportunity to develop basic construction skills alongside experienced mentors.

The Nambour Men's Shed is a great example of how inclusion can help to build skills and craft new friendships.

Michelle was excited to sell her art to the public, but learned even more about herself along the way. ⛓️

She began learning the tools of launching a microbusiness, as well as how to value herself and her work. Her business – handcrafted chainmaille jewellery, fidgets, and tabletop gaming accessories – has now grown into a regular market presence with an online shop and a loyal customer base.

'[Chainmailling] has greatly helped to build my confidence that I can work and contribute to the community: just at my own pace and in my own way.'
