I am Amy and I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, Sleeptalk practitioner, coach and certified yoga teacher (CYT 200) offering a range of solutions that can help you cope with life's challenges - be it overcoming stress and anxiety, improving performance, taking control over a phobia, improving confidence and self esteem, changing behaviours and getting rid of unwanted habits or simply feeling better about yourself (amongst many others).

I first experienced hypnotherapy almost ten years ago and I've not looked back since! Experiencing it from a client's perspective and realising the profound changes it had on me led me to train as a therapist. I have a great passion for helping others and it is my privilege that I can support people to instigate the changes that they would like to make in their lives. I have seen so many wonderful success stories over the years and it has been a real pleasure to be with clients as they work towards what is right and appropriate for them.

I have been working in the area of training and personal development throughout my career having originally graduated with an honours degree in psychology. I built on this with further qualifications in teaching, training, professional coaching, clinical hypnotherapy and hypnobirthing. Working as a practitioner in this area for many years across the public, private and voluntary sector, I have found hypnotherapy to be an effective way of helping people to overcome barriers that are impeding their lives. I have worked with individuals and groups across the UK, Ireland and internationally to identify the personal and/ or team outcomes that are important to them. By tapping into their own unique set of skills, resources, and capabilities, I have supported my clients with identifying and implementing the changes they want to see in their lives. My hypnotherapy practice is underpinned by life coaching, self management, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy and solution focussed brief therapy principles. Essentially, this means that I work in a direct and goal focussed way: what is it you want to achieve and what is the best way for you to get there?

I spent a few days in Rome with my family last month which was absolutely delightful! It's a place I have been a few times before but it was really lovely to see it through the fresh eyes of my children who were gobsmacked by it.

In the time I was away, I was also reminded - when we step away from our day to day life - how important the slowing down process is. See what the day brings, no plans, just lots of fresh air, walking and delicious food. Oh so nourishing for our bodies and souls.

I don't think I had seen Rome as busy as I did this trip. I was quite overwhelmed by the crowds and found it really lovely to step back and watch from a distance. It reminded me of the importance - in normal life - to step away from the rush. To take that intentional pause in the day and to make the space to get away from the noise.

Most of us only pause when life forces us to- whether that is from burnout, exhaustion or overwhelm.

But choosing to pause intentionally, that’s something else entirely.
That’s what creates space for clarity, creativity, and connection.

Here we are in beautiful Roma visiting my favourite building. We happened to visit at twilight hours when it was getting quieter. I had never experienced it so peaceful and it was a joy to watch from a height all that was going on below.

As we hurtle towards the colder months,I thought I best do a falling leaves class whilst the leaves are still falling.

So yoga classes last week were all about the theme of releasing - using the autumn analogy of falling leaves.

Threaded through the class, were lots of made up yoga poses 🤣: falling leaf pose, squirrel holding a nut pose and a few other seasonal choices! We finished with a yoga nidra which everyone always loves.

Yoga nidra is a structured meditation designed to lull you into a deep state of rest.

Lovely as always to see everyone at classes this week.

If you’re keen to join us,here’s my current timetable:

Sunday @ 5.10 (vinyasa),6 and 7.05
Monday @ 10.30, 6 and 7.05
Tuesday @ 5.55 and 7

This working lark is hard…..

A very serious business meeting with my co-host for the retreat on Sunday- the inimitable gillcarrollcoach - this morning when we finalised our plan for the day. Though sadly not in person. I am however counting the sleeps until I see this gorgeous gal and get to absorb her infectious company.

For those coming to the retreat on Sunday, honestly we have such a special day planned for you. We have so much powerful content that I hope just blows your socks off.

Expect lots of releasing and shaking and moving old and stagnant crap. It is going to be such a special day.

And it wouldn’t be a Gill and Amy experience without A LOT of laughing. There is no one on earth who gives me the belly laugh like this lady does. Get ready…. Who says healing can’t be fun?!

Photo from our very serious ‘planning’ meeting back in September when we first started putting this together.

Ladies,we can’t wait to see you on Sunday and I’ll be in touch in the next day or two with final information etc 💓

In the meantime, you can find more of Gill’s exploits here with her two very successful businesses - 56 Central Restaurant and Strive For It

Cracking into my guilty pleasure - I’m ashamed to say not my first of the season.

I don’t know what happens to me come December but I lose the run of myself completely. Goddawful movies that I wouldn’t entertain under normal circumstances but in November and December I’m a sucker. I do have a certain bar (but it’s not high)

Then January comes and I’m right back into ‘no nonsense’ mode. And stay here til the following November.

Tell me I’m not alone.

OH MY GOODNESS...

I am almost wetting myself with excitement. On Sunday coming, along with one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world, I get to host a retreat with a marvellous group of women.

This day is going to be EPIC. I can guarantee laughs a plenty. And most likely a few tears too. We are going to be pounding and shaking and kicking and prancing our backsides off and I am way too excited.

Somatic yoga has offered so much to my life and Gill's story in the post below describes how our journey started. Our paths went in different directions in terms of our careers but they are careening back towards each other.

Sunday 16th I hope will be our first retreat of many.

Strive For It 56 Central Restaurant , I can't frickin wait for you to arrive ###

I’ll often get a few clients in a row who have come for quite specific and similar reasons.

In the earlier part of the year,it was all about flight anxiety - specifically the fear of being sick on the flight.

All three people I worked with between February and May sent lovely emails from their holiday destinations to let me know how brilliantly things went.

Hypnosis is so magical and I love seeing people’s worlds literally open right up,in just a few short sessions.

If you’d feel I might be able to support you, drop a line to amy@elementshypnotherapy.com

I’d love help your world open up too 🌎
