My clinic is a safe, judgement-free space where you never need to feel embarrassed or anxious.

With my background in nursing and experience as a Foot Health Advanced Specialist, I’m here to help, support and care for you every step of the way.

If you’ve been putting something off, don’t suffer in silence — you’ll always be welcomed with understanding, kindness and professional care.

A new patient came to see me yesterday feeling very embarrassed and anxious because she was in so much pain she could hardly walk.

After treatment, she walked out of the clinic smiling and pain free 👣😍

I was also able to guide her to a prescribing pharmacist who provided antibiotics to help clear the infection.

There’s no need to suffer in silence — I’m here to help 👣

Understanding Two Approaches to Treating Fungal Nail Infections

When it comes to treating fungal nail infections, there are two main approaches: topical treatment and systemic treatment. Here’s a breakdown of both methods:

Topical Treatment:

Topical treatment involves the direct application of antifungal medications to the infected nail. The most commonly used forms are ointments, creams, gels, lacquers, and solutions. The advantages of this approach include:

1. Targeted Action: The medications are applied directly to the infection site, enhancing their effectiveness in that specific area.

2. Minimal Side Effects: Since topical treatments are used externally, the risk of systemic side effects is lower compared to oral medications.

3. Ease of Use: Topical preparations can be easily applied at home.

However, topical treatment also has its drawbacks:

1. Duration of Treatment: Therapy can take several months before noticeable results are achieved.

2. Effectiveness: In severe infections, topical treatment may be less effective and may require support from other methods.

Systemic Treatment:

Systemic treatment involves taking oral antifungal medications that work internally. The most commonly used substances are terbinafine, itraconazole, and fluconazole. The advantages of this approach include:

1. Higher Effectiveness: Oral medications can pe*****te the nail bed and effectively eliminate the fungus.

2. Shorter Treatment Time: In many cases, oral treatment leads to quicker results than topical treatment.

The disadvantages of systemic treatment include:

1. Risk of Side Effects: Oral antifungal medications can cause various side effects, including liver issues, digestive problems, and allergic reactions.

2. Drug Interactions: Oral antifungal medications can interact with other medications, requiring careful monitoring by a doctor.

Conclusion:

Choosing the right approach to treat fungal nail infections depends on the severity of the infection, the patient’s overall health, and their preferences. In some cases, a combination of both methods may be necessary to achieve the best results.

If you're dealing with a fungal nail infection, visit our clinic to discuss your specific situation and determine the best treatment method for you. We are here to help you achieve healthy and beautiful nails.

Nothing to do with feet ! 👣😍
For Your Information ✨
✨Shrove Tuesday do you know the meaning ?

The word “Shrove” comes from the old English word “shrive,” meaning to confess sins and receive absolution.
Traditionally, Christians would go to church on this day to be “shriven” (confess) before Lent began.

🥞 Why Is It Also Called Pancake Day?

Because Lent was historically a time of fasting, people would use up rich foods like:
• Eggs
• Milk
• Sugar
• Butter

These ingredients are perfect for pancakes, which is why in the UK (where it’s widely known as Pancake Day) families traditionally eat them on this day.

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts and best wishes while I was off sick last week. I truly appreciate them.

I’m feeling much better now. Unfortunately, I had to cancel our holiday as it was simply too much for my body to cope with — and I ended up sharing the viral infection with my husband!
So for now, New York is on the back burner.

If I’ve missed anyone who needs to reschedule their appointment, please send me a message and I’ll get you booked back in as soon as possible.

• Feel painful when pressure is applied
• Can make it feel like you’re walking on a small pebble

If you’re experiencing these symptoms, it may be a corn rather than just dry skin or a Verruca!
