We heard we were throwing it back to 2016 šŸ’™

Some things look different.
Some things feel the same.

And what hasn’t changed is our commitment to education, healthcare, and creating positive, lasting impact.

From then to now, Nurses in Action and World Youth International continue to stand for the same purpose: supporting communities, empowering people, and making a difference where it matters most.

To Our Nurses in Action Volunteers - Thank You for 2025 ✨

This year, 113 nurses and healthcare professionals chose to step beyond their day jobs and into communities that needed them most.

Across Kenya, Uganda, and Nepal, YOU showed up - not just with skills, but with compassion, humility, and heart.

In 2025, you:
šŸ’™ Cared for hundreds of patients through hospitals, clinics, and community health camps
šŸ’™ Educated approximately 800 students per placement on hygiene, nutrition, sexual health, and mental wellbeing
šŸ’™ Reached the elderly, disabled, and house-bound through community outreach
šŸ’™ Supported health services across 3 countries, often in challenging and unfamiliar environments

But numbers only tell part of the story... Behind every stat is a patient who felt seen, a student who learned something new, a family who felt supported, and a nurse who chose to care beyond borders.

We are incredibly thankful and proud of each of you. Thank you for giving your time, your expertise, and your heart in 2025. We can’t wait to continue this journey with you in 2026.

Tag a colleague who needs this reminder… šŸ’™

Long shifts, emotional days, little time to rest. It’s especially important this time of year to care for yourself too. Between holiday pressures, limited time with loved ones and caring for everyone else, don’t forget that you matter just as much.

Take a moment to breathe, sip that coffee, laugh at something silly, enjoy a treat, or just sit quietly and recharge. The little things add up and your wellbeing matters now more than ever.

This Christmas, let yourself rest, smile, and receive the same care you give every day. You’ve earned it.

They gave their tomorrow for our today.

Today, we pause to remember and honour all who have served and those who continue to serve our country with courage and sacrifice.

We also pay tribute to the nurses who have stood beside them through it all - providing care, comfort and humanity in the darkest of times. Their compassion and strength continue to inspire us and remind us of the true spirit of service. Lest we forget šŸ’™

Wondering if now is a good time to volunteer abroad? The answer is yes - it’s safe, calm and the perfect time to make a difference!

Here’s why volunteering now in Kenya or Nepal is the best choice:

āœ… Low Tourist Season: Fewer travellers means more immersive experiences and closer connections with communities
āœ… Experienced Support: On-the-ground guidance, secure accommodation, and trained team leaders keep you safe at every step
āœ… Real Impact: With fewer tourists, your contribution is more visible and truly valued
āœ… Proactive Safety Measures: Programs follow strict safety protocols with 24/7 support
āœ… Stability Has been restored: Past unrest is behind us and local communities and authorities now more than ever need tourism to sustain their income.

Volunteering now lets you safely gain hands-on experience, make a real difference and immerse yourself in local communities.
