Mindful ~ Kindful ~ Peaceful: The moment to moment practices to transform our lives into harmony with our true nature. Flowing and Growing Through Life: Everything is energy and energy is transforming. Season gently transforming to the next season, daylight into the darkness of night, windy storms settling into stillness. A fallen leaf eventually becomes part of the earth, a fallen pine cone becomes food, or a seed becomes a tree or a flower. What may seem like the end is actually the becoming of something new. Energy becoming. Who have you become? Who are you becoming? Life has a way of bringing up this question again and again as we confront both daily challenges and life-changing events. What if who you are becoming, or hope to become, is also about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you so you can discover, or re-discover, your true nature and how you want to show up in life no matter what obstacles may appear - in health, relationships, or other life circumstances. Learn pragmatic, simple evidence-based practices to navigate the ups and downs of daily living and positively support you in responding to life as it is — the good stuff, the tough stuff, all of it — with grace and the skills to be mindful, kindful, and peaceful. Grateful for good humans and sweet donkeys at the .burro.donkey.sanctuary
I offer free sound healing to the donkeys at least once a month and I’m grateful for this experience. In two weeks on November 22 at noon, the sanctuary will host my offering of a beautiful sound journey as a fundraiser to support the good work that they’re doing to care for these donkeys. If you purchase tickets, you’ll get a tour of the sanctuary and learn about the donkeys, enjoy some refreshments donated by charcuterie and then enjoy a 60 minute sound immersion of soothing sounds with some of the donkeys in the arena with us. Foggy haze suddenly vanished within minutes as the sun was rising - lighting up the bay with golden light as though to say you can rest now, moon - I’ve got watch duty today! After many foggy days and a good rain yesterday- it’s wonderful to welcome back blue sky and sunshine today. The plants and trees are rejoicing. 🙏🏼❤️🌞🌕💧🌳

A foggy haze provided an ethereal feel to the early morning glow - the soft pink sky, the beautiful moon, the dramatic dark fog bank behind the dunes of the bay, the bird sounds. Whenever I step outside in the morning, I find myself taking in a deep breath - perhaps that’s where the word breathtaking comes from- that big sigh from a very peaceful feeling, brought on by the beauty of nature. All is calm all is well in this moment right here right now. It’s not invalidating put the horrible things going on in the world – in our country – but I claim this moment right now for me. I choose peace.

Bringing joy and connection to today.
It’s so fun teaching this pattern - eyes go wide in “fear”when they hear all the steps, but once we begin to practice over and over then they get it and they feel proud and successful. Fun circle today!

The almost full moon was obscured by cloud cover but we brought our own moonlight and enjoyed a very mindful walk on the beach illuminated by the high school field lights. Such a surprisingly pleasant evening (not cold) and took a mindful meander walking on the beach.

Tonight! Our coastal weather has been back and forth between clear skies one day to thick fog the next. The weather app is not always accurate. Sometimes it’s foggy in Los Osos (where I live) and not in Morro Bay so I plan to show up even if it’s foggy here in hopes that it will not be there. Bring a flashlight in case it’s foggy, dress accordingly and we’ll walk in the fog!
Mindfulness is the practice of non-judgmentally accepting the present moment, including difficult thoughts, feelings, or external circumstances like the weather, instead of resisting them. Just as we cannot control the weather, accepting external events like a rainy day allows us to observe them without getting consumed by them, a concept also applied to internal experiences. This acceptance helps reduce suffering by not adding emotional resistance to what you cannot change. Just as you choose how to respond to a rainy day, you can choose how to respond to your internal experience. Resistance often leads to more frustration, while acceptance can lead to a sense of peace and freedom, even when things are difficult.

Yesterday I had the privilege of drumming with memory care residents at Sydney Creek (Villages of SLO). What a lovely facility and sweet staff! Grateful to add this senior community to my monthly drumming wellness calendar! Grateful for the space to pack it all in my van and grateful to Remo for nesting (stackable) floor drums to fit more in my car!

My Story

Mindful Kindful YOUniversity offers Mindfulness-based Social-Emotional Learning Enrichment Programs which provide a rich experience for all ages through learning and engaging in practices of mindfulness and movement grounded in science and backed by research to support mental and physical health and well-being.

Mindful Kindful YOUniversity equips and teaches children, teens, and adults HOW to cultivate the inner resources, or “superpowers” for reducing stress and experiencing more balance, resilience, and overall well-being by integrating evidence-based strategies and practices of mindfulness, movement & yoga, and social emotional learning to develop the essential life skills of emotional intelligence, or “Sm’Heart skills” — the essential education for responding more skillfully to life in the 21st Century!

These positive habits will transform, not only inner peace and happiness, but also our social dynamics at school, at home, at work, and in the community! These are skills for life!

Hi! I am Dee DiGioia (di JOY uh). I am a wholistic educator who finds great joy in helping others discover and understand the inner workings of the mind and body, while cultivating the life-skills and positive habits for emotional, physical, and social well-being. The practice of mindfulness is integrated into all aspects of my life, both personally and professionally, and I am coaching others to do the same.
