A Moment of Loving-Kindness đ
This week, I invite you into a simple and nourishing practice called Loving-Kindness (Metta) Meditation. This practice helps cultivate compassion and ease by offering kind wishesâto ourselves, to those we love, and to all beings. With regular practice, Metta can help reduce stress, soften the mind, and deepen our sense of connection.
Settle In
Find a comfortable seat, either in a chair or on a cushion, with your spine upright and relaxed. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Take a few slow, deep breathsâbreathing in calm and breathing out tension.
Begin with Yourself
Silently repeat the following phrases, letting them land gently:
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be safe.
May I live with ease.
A Loved One
Bring to mind someone you care forâsomeone who naturally opens your heart.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
All Beings
Now expand your awareness outwardâto your community, the wider world, and all beings everywhere.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be healthy.
May all beings be safe.
May all beings live with ease.
Closing
Take a few final breaths and notice how you feel. When youâre ready, gently open your eyes and carry this sense of kindness with you into the rest of your day.
