After a long fertility journey and a thyroid diagnosis I became frustrated with conventional forms of medicine and looked for a different approach that would get me feeling good again. Through personal research and then through studying to become a nutritional therapist I found that it was nutrition and lifestyle medicine that gave me the answers and the results I'd been after. And I'm passionate about making life easier and healthier for busy women. I have a thyroid health Facebook group (Get more energy | thyroid support for tired women) and I've appeared in the Guardian, the Telegraph and Stylist magazine. I can mostly be found at weekends snuggling on the sofa with my 7 and 4 year olds. Qualifications

I studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London for my diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition. I am a member of BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and of the ANP (Association of Naturopathic Practitioners) and am registered as a nutritional therapist with the UK regulator of complementary health practitioners, CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).

I speak to so many ladies who are doing bits and bobs

They may be taking a supplement that promises to end their fatigue

They may be cutting out a food that they’ve heard could be a problem

They may be quitting coffee or getting into Crossfit

But they are still speaking to me

Meaning, they still need help

So often they talk about feeling confused and overwhelmed

I’m not going to tell you everything you need to know about how you can get your energy and your life back now.

Because it’s an instagram post. And because it’s not the same for everyone. And oh yeah, this is my job.

But I will give you some pointers to get started.

➡️ Go anti-inflammatory. Reduce the load. You can do this by increasing anti-inflammatory foods - oily fish, leafy greens, berries
➡️ Help yourself detoxify. Hypothyroidies are often very inefficient at this. This means keeping hydrated, putting an end to constipation and loving your liver
➡️ Put sleep first. Do all you can to get good quality and a good quantity of restful hours

It’s Limerick Day, and Edward Lear’s birthday 🎩🕺🏼

Here are some ladies that could easily have been clients of mine when I first spoke to them.

Feeling like they’ve lost themselves a bit.

Hypothyroidism can do that.

Being constantly depleted, and feeling stuck this way.

But there can be a way forward, if you’re ready to get committed.

My tired, downhearted and frustrated clients soon start to feel better once they are given the roadmap and put the effort in to follow it.

The energy starts to appear, the mood lifts, they feel more in control.

🌱 Most of us are not eating enough plants. They are incredibly nutritious and so beneficial for our gut microbiome which has influence on our immunity, our brain, our happiness and so much more.
