Dearest Family of Self-Healers,

We are living in very "interesting" times (to say the least) and this year we have put a lot of focus on community/neighbor inter-connectedness and self-reliance like growing some food along our herbal allies, collecting rain water and investing in solar generated energy back ups, neighbors working together with prescribed burns to lower ladder fuels and generate more forest health here in the Sierra Foothills, bartering goods and services with each other and learning as a community about online privacy just to name a few of our collective efforts up to now.
Stocking up on oats, beans, millet, rice, salt and honey etc before the winter is definitely another thing we typically do at this time of year including making jams and jellies from hawthorn and pomegranates, giving us a sweet excuse to use our medicine in a fun and tasty way :)
It cannot be said enough: Building a strong neighborhood/community of mutual support is a balm to the soul and body in these rocky times of intense transformation! Helping to bring solutions to our immediate environment works wonders on the "feeling helpless scale" and endears us to ourselves and our surroundings...
Gratitude Day (Thanksgiving) is just around the corner and the neighborhood here is planning a potluck with games, live music and just plain good heart-warming fun!!
