We are thrilled to share that AACI recently received a wonderful donation of 200 TY Beanie Babies from the incredible Ginger Gals! 😍

These aren't just toys—they are vital tools for our various programs that support local youth. Our counselors and workshop staff use them to help children express emotions and navigate complex topics in a way that feels safe, approachable, and kid-friendly.

A huge thank you to the Ginger Gals for stopping by our office and sharing such a generous gift with our community. Your support helps us provide the comforting, creative care our youth deserve. ❤️

Community support like this makes our mission possible. If you’re inspired by this gift and want to learn more about our program-specific needs, please reach out to us at development@aaci.org.

March 8th marks International Women’s Day (IWD)! Originally started in 1911, IWD is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. 🎉

On this day, individuals, groups, and organizations worldwide rally together to celebrate women's achievements, educate and raise awareness for women's equality, call for positive change advancing women, lobby for accelerated gender parity, and fundraise for female-focused charities. This year’s International Women’s Day campaign theme is: Give to Gain! This emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction, it's intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise. ❤️

Did you know AACI is a women of color-led organization AACI strives to foster a climate of purposeful inclusion where all can feel safe, valued, and cared for. We celebrate the diversity of our clients and employees and strive to provide services in a way that acknowledges and honors all differences.

Did you see? 👀🎥

Our President & CEO, Sarita Kohli, was recently featured on NBC Bay Area’s Today In the Bay talking about AACI’s Growing Up in America Contest! We’re grateful to NBC Bay Area for partnering with us to shine a spotlight on the creativity and voices of young people in our community.

The contest invites K–12 students across the Bay Area to share their stories and perspectives through art, essays, and video. This year's theme is "Growing Healthy Connections," which encourages youth to explore what makes their relationships healthy, safe, and respectful.

We are accepting submissions on our website through March 15th. Visit aaci.org/gua for more information!

Last month, AACI joined community health centers from across the country to attend the Policy & Issues Conference in Washington, D.C. hosted by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). The conference provided important updates on how federal policies are being implemented and efforts to amend or challenge these policies in the courts. Health center advocates at the federal level also gave previews on what new laws and policies are being considered by Congress and by the Administration in the coming year. The conference also provided an opportunity for AACI to connect with fellow community health centers and learn about the ways they’re adapting to our rapidly changing healthcare landscape. 🤝

The conference culminated with a visit to Capitol Hill where AACI and other clinics from Santa Clara County met with Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Rep. Sam Liccardo, Rep. Jimmy Panetta, and staff from Rep. Ro Khanna’s office to discuss challenges health centers in our region are facing and to get updates on what Congress is working on. Despite the below freezing temperatures in D.C., AACI was grateful for an opportunity to gain important insights from the conference and for the opportunity to connect and collaborate with our members of Congress.
