Not been for a while? Don’t worry, you’ll always be welcome & we just go again 💪

Like the graphic but not sure what this class is all about? Don’t worry, I don’t always explain it well 💡 It’s a private, circuits class for women of all ages and particularly 35+ to build strength, fitness, body-confidence and new friendships (in a nutshell!)

👀 Spot The Difference 👀 Be it in a gym, class or at home…wearing running shoes to do any kind of lifting is not for you. Here’s why;

Depth of sole - running shoes are very cleverly designed and built to help you go forward, in motion, in a gazelle like fashion whilst providing maximum impact protection👌 (If you’ve had running technique training from me, you’ll know all about correct foot placement 🗣️ 🗣️ 🗣️ 🤣)

But look how high your heel is in them 🪜

When doing any kind of lifting, you need full foot stability and the ability to push up through your legs by having your heels fully planted. Even just for no-weight squats this is important.

With runners on, your balance is off, which can result in - best case - poor form & reduced effectiveness. And worst case, unnecessary lower back strain & potential injury 😭

Make sense? You don’t need to rush out & buy new gym shoes ‘tho. (Converse on Vinted is my guilty pleasure tbf 😍) I regularly rock up in my runners - cos they’re comfy as! And train in my socks, better still!

A few months ago my daughter commented that my calves were looking very slim. I thought she was paying me a compliment 🥰 she wasn’t 🤣 but it did make me think on because, spindly little calves aren’t going to keep us upright very well are they?

So, of course, I did my research and…Did you know that your calf muscles are often called the 'second heart'? ♥️ As the heart pumps oxygen-rich blood to your whole body it benefits by some help from your calf muscles to keep the oxygen-depleted blood flowing round the system - against gravity. Stay with me 😵‍💫

Your calf muscles give the blood an extra push through the veins back in the direction of your heart 🎯

Because the calf muscle assists the heart in circulating blood throughout your body, it’s really important to keep them strong and healthy. So I’ve added calf raises into my leg-day workouts and I can already feel and see results🦵

You don’t need gym equipment to do them either 👏🏼👏🏼 they’re so simple, so beneficial and you can do them literally anywhere👌

It might have been sub-zero this morning but the layers came off sharpish 😅 the effort, laughter and support in the room was very cosy 🥰 and it was fab to welcome Laura to her first class too, fab to see you & well done!

And who votes that Gail should be permanent stopwatch boss ⏱️ 🙌🏽👏🏼🤣

GLP-1 Weight Loss Medications and HRT - something your online provider may not have asked you about or made you aware of 🤔

If you’re using both medications, and take progesterone orally, please book an appointment with your GP to discuss your dosage 💊

Mounjaro especially slows down digestion, which includes other medications. Progesterone in HRT primarily protects the womb lining, preventing overgrowth and the risk of cancer. Experts are now suggesting that dosage is increased or changed to non-oral for both peri and post-menopausal women.

Take extra note if you’re peri-meno ie 35+, this also applies to oral contraceptions…Mounjaro Baby is already a hashtag 😉

The British Menopause Society have published information and guidance about this so please feel free to have a read and take it to your GP appt with you ⬇️ And let me know if this helps! 😘😘
