Red Rocks Nursing Home Red Rocks is magnificently situated, quite literally on the tip of the beautiful Wirral Peninsular.

Red Rocks is magnificently situated, quite literally on the tip of the Wirral Peninsula, set in two acres of attractive, landscaped gardens and terraces, it also has a large ornamental Koi pond with its own sun terrace. It borders the shore with its world famous nature reserve and bird sanctuary, and has exceptional and uninterrupted views of the Dee Estuary, Hilbre Island, Liverpool Bay and the Welsh Hills, and is probably the most envied location on the Wirral.

PLEASE CONSIDER GETTING YOUR FLU JAB
This season's strains seem to be particularly nasty.
Freya feels as though she's been run over by a truck!

In the same year that Rob celebrates 27 years volunteering for RNLI Hoylake Lifeboat Station, this month saw him also celebrate his 5th anniversary with us.

Massive thanks for keeping us all safe, sound, ship shapen and Bristol fashion.

Here's to many more years🍾🥂

NB: The English phrase "shipshape and Bristol fashion" means in good order, efficiently arranged. Originally, the phrase was "ship shapen and Bristol fashion" first recorded as early as 1827, Bristol was the most prosperous port of west-coast Britain, and its ship chandlery was of the highest quality. The term may have developed in view of the port of Bristol having a very high tidal range of 13m (43 ft) - the second highest in the world. Ships moored in this area would be aground at low tide and, because of their keels, would fall to one side. If everything was not stowed away tidily or tied down, the results were chaotic and cargo could be spoiled.

What’s changed?
At our last Day of Action on the 25th February, we faced the Chancellor’s budget challenges, including National Insurance and National Minimum Wage increases. However, from this Autumn, the new employment legislation will impose further wage costs that neither providers nor the people we support can afford.

How much more can we be squeezed?

Why we walk?
This government continues to add new responsibilities on social care without providing the investment required to deliver. The irony is stark; the NHS 10 year Plan mentions social care only three times, yet relies on us to deliver its goals.

We cannot continue as the invisible support system for the health and wellbeing for millions in our communities. We must be seen. We must be heard. And we invite the government to engage meaningfully with us. With a reported £50 billion gap in public finances, the social care sector fears the axe will fall on us again in this Autumn’s Budget. But this isn’t just about budgets it’s about real lives. There must be a national conversation about what it truly costs to keep people safe, independent, and well.

The Providers Unite's peaceful walk in Liverpool on the 29th September ("Backbone of Care Walk") will bring together care providers and allies to affirm the essential role of social care in our society and demand the urgent investment we desperately need.
