Young men face the highest risk of gambling harm. In Australia, a country with the highest betting losses in the world, you don’t have to look far to see why.

It’s in our ads, our sport, our bars and our social media feeds. But gambling companies are targeting something deeper: ideas about masculinity, confidence and what it means to belong as a man in the world.

Our latest article sheds light on the constant pressure boys and men face, and why protecting them from the industry is the first step we need to take. Take a look at the link in the comments.

Confidence: 10/10. Coordination: …not so much

Sharon from our Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) team puts her skills to the test in the Beer Goggles Challenge — showing just how much drinking can affect coordination, even when you feel fine.

Alcohol can slow your reaction time, affect vision, and make it harder to judge situations clearly. While everyone’s experience with it is different, understanding these effects can help us make safer, more informed choices.

If you have concerns about your relationship with drinking, or someone you know, a conversation with the right person can really help. Support is here if you need it.

Starting a fresh chapter with someone is a feeling like no other. But early in a relationship, it should be all butterflies and excitement, not “let's open an account together”.

If your new flame asks for money to "build your future together" — pause. Because when it comes to romance scams, that’s the oldest trick in the book.

Romance scams often start with intense affection and promises of a life together… Then comes the financial pressure. This is not love and can quickly lead to a bad situation.

The good news? You can still enjoy every moment together — just be mindful of a few things, like if they:

💸 Ask you to invest in a business you’re not part of
📝 Encourage you to sign documents you don’t understand
🔍 Suggest you open new accounts, move funds, or take on debt for their benefit
💰 Make your future together about financial commitments

Valentines Day celebrates love that’s safe, supportive, and authentic. If something doesn’t feel right, explore our support services at: https://www.each.com.au/services/category/social-support?support=counselling-and-family-support

18 years ago, the words spoken in Federal Parliament marked a moment many First Nations people had waited generations to hear.

On this day, former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd delivered the National Apology to the Stolen Generations — acknowledging the deep and enduring harm caused when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were forcibly removed from their families between 1910 and 1970.

For many, the Apology was not an end, but a beginning. A moment of truth-telling. A step towards healing and reconciliation.

Yet the impacts of these policies are still felt today. First Nations communities continue to live with intergenerational trauma and face ongoing inequities in health and wellbeing.

At Each, we acknowledge this history and our shared responsibility. We are committed to walking alongside Community — listening, learning, and supporting self-determination on the path forward.

Did you know a mealtime rhythm can help kids listen to their bodies? 🍎

Join our Population Health Officers, Rachael and Laura, as they share how meal and snack routines can help children notice their hunger and fullness cues.

Even if they only sit at the table for a few minutes, offering food every 2–3 hours can make a big difference in them getting what their body needs.

What a night! Huge thanks to for creating such a joyful, empowering space for LGBTQIA+ young people at this year’s Night at the Museum event.

One of our favourite moments of the evening was seeing young people add to our Affirmation Wall, with messages of hope, pride, kindness and self
love.

We’re so proud to support an event that celebrates identity, connection and community.

For many 26 January is a difficult day, a reminder of the harm caused by colonisation and the ongoing inequities faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

In the spirit of reconciliation and healing, we need to honestly acknowledge our history and its ongoing impact.

At Each, we acknowledge these impacts and remain committed to walking alongside First Nations Communities to Close the Gap. We stand with and support our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colleagues and customers who may find this day challenging. Our staff have the option to swap this public holiday for another day that is meaningful to them.

Saying farewell to 2025, we’re looking back at some of the moments that made this year special at Each:

✨ We launched our new brand and website to make finding support simple — so those who need us feel included and understood from the very first step.

💜 The Virtual Women’s Health Clinic launched, making it easier for women across Victoria to get sexual and reproductive healthcare.

📣 We raised our voices for change, standing up against financial abuse in business, raising awareness about medication dependence, and called for investment in preventative care.

🏆 Our Health@Home Pathways program was a finalist in the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards — a testament to the importance of working with acute services to deliver care at home.

📚 We partnered with Monash University to strengthen our research, bringing evidence-based care to the heart of what we do.

🚘 Our L2P (Learner Driver Mentor) program turned 10, thanks to incredible volunteers helping young people gain independence and confidence behind the wheel.

💙 Better Connect marked its first year of bringing free mental health, alcohol and other drug, and su***de prevention services together in Queensland.

🫶 headspace Eastern Shore opened its doors, providing support to more young people in Tasmania.

And so much more — all made possible by our amazing staff, partners, and community.

Thank you for being on this journey with us. Happy New Year💛

Struggling with sleep? Book a free 15-minute call with a Better Sleep psychologist🌙

Sometimes the simplest habits make the biggest difference. A brisk walk during the day and soaking up morning sunlight can help reset your body clock and set you up for better rest.

But if you’re still tossing and turning — whether it’s falling asleep, waking through the night, or rising too early — this might point to something deeper.

Our Better Sleep Program can help you figure out what’s happening and how to improve it. You’ll work with a psychologist trained in CBTI (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) — the gold-standard treatment for insomnia — and explore:

• The thoughts and feelings affecting your sleep
• Habits and routines that affect your rest
• Practical steps to build better sleep patterns

We’re currently offering free a 15-minute call with a sleep psychologist to help you learn more about the Better Sleep Program, get some initial tips, and see if it’s right for you. Schedule yours at: https://automedsystems.com.au/ams/clinics/10059/each/doctors/loc/2
