Join us for an upcoming workshop at the Lanark Highlands Public Library
Preventing Falls: A Workshop for Older Adults (and the people who support them) on Tuesday, March 24, from 1:00–3:00 p.m.
In partnership with ConnectWell Community Health - Lanark Site, the library will host Preventing Falls: A Workshop for Older Adults on Tuesday, March 24, from 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults in Canada. The good news is that many falls are preventable. Learning about your risks and how to reduce them is one of the most important things you can do to stay independent as you get older.
In this workshop, we will explore how to prevent falls. You will learn about risk factors including decreased muscle strength, loss of hearing or vision, and hazards in and around the home. The workshop will include an active component, where you will learn some simple daily exercises you can do at home to stay strong.
