A few months ago, I went to my GP to get a smear, It was 3 years since my last screening.

I was sent to the hospital to get a colposcopy and a biopsy,  they found abnormal cells. A few weeks later I then had a LLETZ procedure done to remove all the pre cancerous cells from my cervix.

The doctor told me there was a 50% chance of these cells developing into cervical cancer.

I had never had any gynaecological issues in my life prior to this, I'm 33.

If I hadn't decided to do a smear, I could have had cancer in the next few months.

Get checked if anything out of the ordinary happens, listen to your body.

And please do not skip your regular screening. It saves lives.

🍑Thankyou for bravely sharing your story and raising much needed awareness.
