Improving MS diagnosis globally: Recommendations for the MSIF movement 🌍

Early and accurate diagnosis of MS is critical to ensuring people with MS can begin treatment, plan for the future, and maintain the best possible quality of life. Yet, around the world, many individuals still face significant barriers that delay timely diagnosis.

To help address this global challenge, MSIF, with input from its members, carried out a scoping study to understand where the MSIF movement can have the greatest impact from 2026 onwards. This work provides a summary of what is known about barriers to accessing an accurate diagnosis of MS as early as possible across the world, and potential interventions to address these barriers.

Building on these insights, the report provides clear, evidence-based recommendations for where MSIF and its members should focus their efforts over the next 2–5 years. It also highlights opportunities for researchers, health professionals, and decision-makers across the wider MS community to contribute to improving access to accurate and timely MS diagnosis worldwide.

Explore the findings and see how coordinated global action can help close the diagnosis gap for people with MS everywhere 👉 https://www.msif.org/resource/improving-ms-diagnosis-globally-recommendations-for-the-msif-movement/
