Coach Meredith in her green bean shirt proudly announcing she is NOT eating green beans this Thanksgiving 🙅‍♀️😆 Though the picture may be old, she still detests green beans!

Our clients use tracking to understand how their body’s feel with certain types of foods. Unlike rigid meal plans, they learn the type of nutrient that leaves them feeling their best so they aren’t bound to eating green beans when they want broccoli… or chicken when they want fish… or potatoes when they want bread.

I’m also choosing to enjoy some greens to make room for pumpkin pie because it’s Thanksgiving… and you should eat the damn pie if you want to!

Hi! Alexa and Meredith here 👯‍♀️

We are co-owners of The Diet Doc Movement, nutrition consultants, fitness professionals, goal chasing enthusiasts and moms.

And we know we’ve been quiet on here this year… well because 👆👆👆

See priorities aren’t a static list, they are constantly being rearranged. Just because one thing… like our social media posts… have moved towards the bottom of the list, doesn’t mean we have to delete our account and start a new one on Monday. It means, we do the best we can to post, with the time we have.

Kind of like nutrition… even us as busy entrepreneurial moms… just because we didn’t have time to make an elaborate meal prep this holiday weekend, it doesn’t mean we have to eat like garbage all week to start over on Monday.

Frozen veggies over fresh — big whoop!
Drive-through grilled chicken sandwich over home-made — it’s fine!
Ham sandwich instead of tilapia, broccoli and rice — a-o-k!

Just because a priority moves down the list, it doesn’t mean it has to be kicked off the list 🗒️

Let us first start by stating, a calorie deficit is the ONLY way to lose body fat.

BUT, you don’t need to track every macro. Mastering these few key habits will help get you into a comfortable deficit.

🥤 Stop drinking calories. Liquid calories don’t keep you full and can sneak in 300–500 extra calories fast.
🍳 Add protein + fiber at every meal. They slow digestion, keep you satisfied, and protect lean muscle during a cut.
🚶‍♀️ Increase your daily steps. Movement outside your workouts (aka NEAT) makes a huge difference in overall calorie burn without a huge impact on hunger.

Do these three consistently and you’ll move the needle.

Tracking macros ensures you’re in a calorie deficit + optimizes the process of losing body fat. BUT it doesn’t mean you can’t start the process simply because you refuse to do it.
