I spent some delightful moments today with the feisty and wonderful Ms Irene…as she celebrated her 100th birthdays surrounded by her loving family and friends. She assured me it was not a party .. but made sure I knew she was 100 years old ..
I credit her son and his wofe for all the good care and love they shower on her.
Lots of love and good wishes Ms Irene ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I thoroughly enjoyed the visit!

At 100 years young today, Ms. Irene David continues to be the heart and leader of her family. As a proud former midwife, she spent her time bringing new life into the world, guiding others with compassion and strength. Even today, her fiery spirit and warm smile light up her home in Campbellville, Georgetown.

She credits her long, fulfilling life to the constant love and care of her devoted son and the unwavering support of his wife, a bond that keeps her heart full and her spirit strong.

As you can see, it was much laughter and pure happiness between me and Granny Irene today, she was so loving..
Ms. Irene David’s story is one of love, resilience, and timeless grace a true inspiration to all who know her.

POV from Minister:
The things that touch my heart and stay with me…

Yesterday I spoke to a 19 year old, who was a new mother, and she had no support. We chatted and I asked her what her plans were and she said she had no way to turn but here…no support from the Dad, all too.

Often this happens…she’s on her own at the mercy of her friend’s kindness. Of course, the Ministry will help her and I stated that from the very first meeting.

BUT…
What made me so so happy is when I shared with her the Women’s Innovation and Investment Network Programme and how she could be trained for FREE, she said “FREE? Really? Sign me up” and as she got up and was leaving, she said this :
“I am going to come back and meet you and show you what I will do, and how, with this opportunity I will elevate myself”…her mood had changed and she was brimming with enthusiasm…

To say, I felt proud of her was an understatement and inside I was bursting with pride at her resilience and quite happy that we were going to help her on her journey of empowerment….

My Wednesday sharing...you go girl ♥️♥️♥️

The thing is, you don’t have to do it alone, come in and talk to me and I’ll tell you how I can help. We have done it for so many women, so why not you?

Tackling a serious issue like child abuse requires a unified reasonse, collective responsibility and acknowledgement that this happens in homes, communities and wherever children are…
1. It’s not new
2. With the advent of reporting mechanisms like 914 and CPA hotline .. more cases are coming forward
3. With the awareness and education being done - more persons can identify child abide cases and are more likely to report
4. The Child Advocacy Network allows persons to be trained by CPA to support our work in communities and to drive reporting and support
5. Our National Parenting Programme allows us to work with parents to treat children better and to parent without abuse, including neglect.
6. Working with children in schools, communities, and vulnerable situations through CPA and FESS continues
7. The Streetlight Programme focused on removing children from the streets

all of this and more have been done .. but we want to do more until we have the best system to tackle child abuse …we have intervened and responded to each of thousands of reports that come to us ..
Share your thoughts and recommendations… I want to hear from you ..

As I taught Kathak dance class today and had all these little ones around me .. I looked back and realized I have taugh hundreds of children and youth. I have been teaching dance voluntarily and for free since I left high school … it’s more than just teaching dance, it is shaping minds, sharing my dharma through chants, Bhajans via intricate movements and explanations, fostering values and ethics creating accomplished artistes, showing them that they could do it all excel academically, and professionally, and become powerful advocates for causes, serve humanity selflessly and develop into positively contributing adults who love country and care about each other … yeah .. that’s what’s I have been up to for more than 2 decades …quietly and consistently.. And I am immensely proud of all my students who come from all over the country, different faiths, backgrounds and ethnicity ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yea that’s my Sunday sharing …😀 for the things I love
