We recently upgraded this patient from his previous knee unit to the 𝟯𝗥𝟭𝟬𝟲 𝗣𝗿𝗼 from . Needles to say he has a new pep in his step.

𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁. Foot impression boxes are frequently used to manufacture toe fillers, whereas castings can be used for surgical boots or in cases where more control is needed for mobilization. Then ofcourse, the custom silicone cosmetic device is for functionality, but more so asthetics. Each technique is patient dependent, but we ensure functionality is provided!

Will my lymphedema go away?

Lymphedema does not go away, but with proper compression garments and management it can be maintained to prevent it from getting worse.

This 𝗽𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘁 holds the foot and ankle in a neutral position to prevent stiffness and contracture especially at night or during immobile periods or post stroke treatment.

After several trials with various AFO systems and devices, we got our patient up on the 𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗿 & 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘇 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 trial from Össur . The system is very user friendly and the patient was extremely satisfied with the assistance the device provided. More to follow!

Starting with a new prosthetic can feel uncertain.
Confidence does not arrive on day one. It grows as your body learns and adapts. Small adjustments and regular follow ups make the journey easier.

Follow up consultations are key once you have received your custom foot orthotics. We generally advise that you have a follow up after 2 weeks to allow for a period of time to wear them in. The foot orthotics are worn gradually over and your feet will take about 2 weeks to get used to it. Patient feedback is given at the follow up visit, the desired outcome of the orthotic is re-evaluated and if needed alterations can be made. It is very important that these visits are not skipped as they form part of the process of wearing compliance and comfort. Make sure to book your follow up before you go out the door.
