Today World Wellness Group turns 14! 🎂
On the 22nd of November 2011, WWG was officially registered as a social enterprise, and we’ve been working for health equity ever since.

Over the past 14 years we’ve grown from a small idea into a multicultural health service, GP clinic and social enterprise supporting communities across Brisbane and beyond.

Thank you to our clients, communities, staff, volunteers, partners and funders who have been part of the journey so far, we couldn’t do this work without you.

Here’s to the next chapter. 🎉

Today is World Social Enterprise Day which is a global celebration of organisations that use business for social good 🌍

World Wellness Group is an accredited social enterprise. This means we operate in a competitive marketplace in two major areas: our bulk billing GP practice and our consultancy services.

Many individuals, businesses and government choose to do business with social enterprises, knowing that every dollar spent helps contribute towards social impact, rather than going to individuals or corporations.

How you can support social enterprises? Look on marketplaces such as Good Market to purchase products and services or choose a social enterprise cafe or restaurant for your next outing - Brisbane has several.

If your organisation needs expert consultation on multicultural community engagement, multicultural health needs assessment, data and research, service design and evaluation, consider engaging WWG as every dollar goes back into our social enterprise that delivers real impact for multicultural communities.

World Wellness Group is proud to announce a new partnership with CQUniversity Australia to provide chiropractic care to underserved communities.

Under the supervision of Dr Natalie Clohesy, final-year chiropractic students will complete their internships at the WWG clinic, delivering free treatments to all patients and staff. This collaboration allows us to extend our services to individuals and families who need support the most, bringing pain relief, holistic care, and improved quality of life to vulnerable communities who may otherwise be unable to access vital healthcare.

Chiropractic services will be available every Thursday at the World Wellness Group clinic, located at 182 Logan Rd, Woolloongabba.

To book, contact the clinic on (07) 3333 2100

Last Thursday, our Multicultural AOD program teamed up with the Philippine Consulate Queensland for “Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan: Standing stronger for mental health and social wellbeing” 🇵🇭🤝

We welcomed more than 70 Filipino community and business leaders for an evening of discussion, workshopping and powerful personal stories of resilience. Honorary Consul of the Philippines to Queensland Atty Sheryll Gabutero and Queensland Mental Health Commission Ivan Frkovic spoke about the importance of communities coming together to support people living with mental health and/or alcohol and other drug concerns.

Ms Maddie dela Paz shared her own mental health journey, offering hope and a clear message that community-led solutions can make a real difference for those in need. Our own Marina Chand, Rodel Josu and Kane Solly highlighted community health resources already available before the group workshopped how the Filipino community can reduce stigma, get help to those who need it and respond to mental health, su***de and AOD in the Filipino community.

The word cloud at the end of the night said it all: people left feeling more aware, empowered and ready for the next steps in community capacity building in 2026.

Thank you to the Queensland Mental Health Commission, the Philippines Consulate of Queensland, our sponsors and every attendee for a fantastic evening. 💜

🎙️ Thanks to 4EB’s “Magandang Gabi, Brisbane!” (Good evening, Brisbane!) for the recent invite ahead of our Filipino community event tonight. We talked openly about mental health, WWG programs, and alcohol and other drugs support.

If your community group or radio show wants a segment on mental health and where to get help, reach out. We’re happy to share practical info and pathways to support.

Group activities help older migrants and refugees stay connected and feel better.

Older migrants and refugees lose many of their established social networks after migration. This is exacerbated as they get older.

Simple activities like community classes, arts and craft, and exercise groups make it easier to meet people and keep active 🎨🚶

Today some of our team met with Aftab Malik, Australia's Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia, to discuss strategies to address the mental health impacts of Islamophobia at service delivery and systems levels.

Loneliness and social isolation aren’t “just feelings”, they're linked to heart disease, dementia, depression and early mortality. Research even shows the health impact can be worse than smoking or obesity.

Isolation can be especially challenging for older migrants and refugees due to language gaps, unfamiliar services, smaller local networks, and limited transport options.

That's why WWG provides practical help and warm referrals into trusted, culturally safe activities.

There’s a big gap in what we know about alcohol and other drug (AOD) use in multicultural communities, so services might not reflect your reality.

What we can’t see, we can’t respond to.

What we don’t measure, we can’t improve.

We’re inviting people from multicultural backgrounds to take a short ⏱️, anonymous 🔒 survey to help build a clearer picture of AOD experiences and how best to reach your community.

Your insights will shape better, more inclusive services.
