Biology Is a Choice: What Roger Barnett Told CEO Magazine (And What Our 20-Year Partnership Has Proven)

In the latest CEO Magazine feature, Roger Barnett—Shaklee's CEO since 2004—said something that captures why I and other Shaklee Ambassadors have enjoyed working alongside him for two decades:

“It’s not how long you live, it’s how long you live well.”

Here's the distinction: chronological age (calendar years) vs. biological age (how your cells actually function).

We can't change chronological age. But biological age? Absolutely changeable.

Why This Matters to Me

When Roger took the helm in 2004, he brought a vision that aligned perfectly with what I believe, optimal health isn't luck or genetics—it's systematic support of cellular function over time.

The science backs this up. The Shaklee Landmark Health Studies tracked people using their products for 20-40 years, then monitored them another decade.

Results compared to people taking other brands:

- Up to 97% lower prescription medication use
- Superior on every health metric tested
- Better blood nutrients, biomarkers, disease outcomes.

Not just feeling better. Testing better on measurable indicators.

Putting Roger's Vision to the Test, at 60 I’m on no meds , menopause has been a breeze, I have
maintained muscle mass and have tons of energy… the list goes on!

Roger's been telling CEO Magazine—and what our research shows:

I’m not maintaining. I'm improving.

Roger's Formula (The One That Works)
→ Optimal nutrition (not hoping food is enough)
→ Strategic approach (not random effort)
→ Consistency over time (where most people quit)

Question Worth Asking

What would YOUR life look like if your biological age started getting younger?
Not someday. Now.

What have you accepted as “just aging” that might actually be optional?
Energy levels? Strength? Flexibility? Recovery? Mental clarity?

The science proves: Decline is optional.

The approach:
- Support cells with real nutrition (backed by clinical studies)
-thinking, “I want that too”... I’d be honored to share what works.

Whether you're 35 or 85, starting from zero or optimizing current practices, the framework is the same.

Age is chronology. Biology is choice.
What will you choose?

P.S. - My current protocol includes:
• Vivix (mitochondrial support)
• Life Strip (complete multi/mineral/omega-3)
• Life Shake (protein with leucine) Collagen
• VitalMag (magnesium)

Not random. Strategic. Backed by 70 years of Shaklee research.

Two things that are a must in my daily routine: Shaklee Vitalizer and Plant Protein—here’s why 👇

✨ Vitalizer
This is my non-negotiable for energy and stress support. It helps nourish my nervous system, supports adrenal health, and keeps my energy steady without caffeine spikes. I notice better focus, improved mood, and far less afternoon crash.

🌱 Plant Protein
Protein is essential—especially as we age. This one is gentle on digestion, helps maintain lean muscle, supports metabolism, and keeps me full longer. It’s clean, plant-based, and fits perfectly into a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.

These two support energy, muscle, stress resilience, and overall vitality—the foundation of aging strong and feeling good every day.

💧 Why Drinking Water Is So Important 💧

If you’re feeling tired, bloated, foggy, or constantly craving snacks… it might not be your diet — it could be dehydration.

Water plays a role in:
✔️ Boosting energy & focus
✔️ Supporting weight loss & fat metabolism
✔️ Reducing cravings (thirst often feels like hunger)
✔️ Improving digestion & gut health
✔️ Supporting joint, muscle & skin health
✔️ Lowering stress on the body

Even mild dehydration can slow your metabolism and increase fatigue.

✨ Simple goal: Aim for about ½ your body weight (lbs) in ounces of water per day.

Start small. Add a glass in the morning. Carry a bottle. Sip consistently.

💬 Question: How much water do you think you drink in a day — enough or not even close?

Are you chasing the next big thing?

Recently, I heard an influencer share something that really made me pause. She talked about how some brand partnerships don’t pay her until many months later… and sometimes she doesn’t get paid at all because the company shuts down before payment ever comes through.

It was such a reminder of how unpredictable a lot of online opportunities can be. You can show up, pour your heart into promoting something, and still have no guarantee that the income will actually land....

That’s exactly why I’m so grateful for what I’ve built with Shaklee for over 21 years!!

Shaklee has been around for almost 70 years, and that kind of longevity matters to me. It means the products are backed by real science, the systems are established, and the compensation is consistent and reliable. When you do the work, you get paid — on time. No chasing down invoices. No wondering if the company will still be here next quarter.

In a world where trends change overnight and new brands pop up every day, there’s something really comforting about partnering with a company that’s proven, stable, and built to last. It’s not about quick hype. It’s about long-term opportunity, meaningful relationships, and income you can actually count on.

That stability is a huge reason I’m still here, still building, and genuinely excited about what’s ahead. And if you’ve ever felt unsure about relying on short-term partnerships or inconsistent income, I’m always happy to share why Shaklee has been such a solid foundation for me.

If you’ve ever been curious about what I do or why I’m still here after all these years, comment video for my Top 5 Reasons to Partner with Shaklee video I created!

Creatine isn’t just for building muscle—did you know it also supports brain function?

Creatine plays a key role in cellular energy production, including in the brain. Research shows it can help support cognitive performance, mental clarity, and memory by ensuring brain cells have quick access to energy, especially during times of stress, fatigue, or aging.

That’s why creatine isn’t only beneficial for athletes—it’s increasingly recognized as a valuable nutrient for overall brain health and long-term cognitive support.

Do you know someone that needs help remembering things?

This an important and often overlooked point.

Strong, healthy bones depend on more than just calcium. Adequate protein is essential because it provides the building blocks for bone matrix and supports muscle, which in turn protects and stabilizes the skeleton. As we age, insufficient protein intake accelerates muscle loss, increasing the risk of bone loss and fractures.

Weight-bearing and resistance exercises are equally critical. Activities such as walking, strength training, body-weight exercises, and even daily functional movements signal the body to maintain and build bone density. Without this mechanical load, bones weaken over time.

In short: protein nourishes the structure, and weight-bearing movement tells the body to keep bones strong. Both are non-negotiable for long-term bone health, especially as we age.

So use it or lose it makes perfect sense!💪
