Inability to control blood pressure
Inability to conceive
Spontaneous abortion
Inability to induce labor
This is part 3 in the series. Lipids or fats are the third level in the cascade of dietary stress. If sufficient quantities of carbohydrates or proteins are unavailable for energy due to inadequate intake or a compromised digestive system, the body will use fat to create energy. Therefore, fats are not available to do their assigned tasks which include the production of essential fatty acids which are precursors for prostaglandins. Prostaglandins stimulate contraction of smooth muscle in blood vessels affecting blood pressure. They also promote conception, induce labor, effect spontaneous abortion and regulate transmission of nerve signals. Other lipid related substances like phospholipids and cholesterol are essential for health.
As you can see from the above symptoms, proper fat ingestion as well as digestion and absorption are very important to your overall health. In today's society of misinformation it is imperative now we understand that healthy fats are not the enemy. So please throwaway (or better yet don't purchase) any processed food that says low fat on the label and avoid all on healthy fats which are trans fats and hydrogenated fats. Healthy fats can be found in fresh avocados, walnuts, ground flax seed and h**p hearts to name a few.
