Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in woman of all races. In South Africa 1 in 27 woman are at risk of breast cancer. Risk factors include older age, family history, being overweight, to***co use, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle and exposure to chemicals. Some of the benefits of exercise include improvements in quality of life, fatigue, strength, flexibility, body composition, depression and anxiety, lymphedema, sleep and energy levels. It can also reduce occurrence and reoccurrence of breast cancer. Self-examinations and clinical examinations play an integral role in diagnosis of breast cancer. Self examinations should be done once a month.

Heart Rhythm week (7-13th June)
Arrhythmias are irregularities of the heartbeat. A heartbeat which is too fast is called tachycardia (more than 100 b/min) and a heartbeat that is too slow is called bradycardia (below 60 b/min). Worldwide abnormal arrhythmias cause 15-20% of deaths every year.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease that affects the central nervous system. This disease disrupts the communication between the brain and the body. The onset of this disease usually occurs between 20-50 years of age. Women are 2-3 times more likely to be affected compared to men.

Signs and symptoms include:
-Loss of balance
-Weakness and fatigue
-Changes in sensation
-Visual disturbances
-Cognitive and emotional impairments
-Incontinence
-Depression
-Difficultly sleeping

World Obesity Day. 1 in 4 of us is expected to be living with obesity in 2035. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise to prevent weight gain. It is suggested that you might need up to 250 minutes per week to loose weight and prevent regaining weight.
