For many, gambling is a way to cope with deeper struggles.

When gambling becomes an escape, it can quickly spiral into a harmful cycle that’s hard to break alone.

What keeps the cycle going?
▶️ Stress, anxiety, and depression can drive gambling
behavior.
▶️ Short-term wins may create a false sense of control.
▶️ Losses often lead to more gambling in an attempt to “win
back” what’s gone.
▶️ Without support, the emotional toll can feel overwhelming.

But there is hope. Recovery is possible, and help is available.
Addressing both gambling behaviors and mental health challenges can open the door to real change.

Need support? Call 1-800-GAMBLER or visit the links in our

You are not alone. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and taking the first step can change everything.

AwarenessMonth

03/07/2026

For many, gambling isn’t just about winning or losing. It’s about escaping. Anxiety, depression, and stress often fuel unhealthy gambling behaviors, creating a cycle that can be difficult to break.

During Problem Gambling Awareness Month, let’s work together to break the stigma surrounding mental health and gambling addiction.

Addressing these challenges isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a powerful step toward healing.

Recognizing the connection between mental health and
gambling is key:

▶️ Gambling can mask deeper struggles like stress or
hopelessness.
▶️ Untreated mental health issues can make it harder to stop
gambling.
▶️ Holistic support-understanding unhealthy gambling habits
AND underlying mental health issues-can change lives.

If you or someone you know is experiencing harm from gambling, help is available. Call 1-800-GAMBLER or visit the link in our bio to find free and low-cost resources.

It’s okay to ask for help-and it’s never too late to reclaim your well-being. Let’s work together to reduce stigma and build a healthier Nevada.

Stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow!
