Peace Arch Hospice Society

Peace Arch Hospice Society Providing palliative and grief support free of charge to South Surrey and White Rock since 1982.

Peace Arch Hospice Society supports those living with grief and life-limiting illness by providing care, compassion, information, and resources. We offer emotional, practical, and spiritual support to Semiahmoo Peninsula residents and their families, inclusive of all cultures, faiths, and beliefs. As a community-based, registered charity, we complement local hospitals and care facilities. Our Registered Clinical Counsellors and trained Volunteers provide professional services such as companionship, counselling, support groups, relaxation therapy, children's grief counselling, and more. We rely on fundraising through grants, events, donations, and our Thrift Store. Please contact us to learn how you can help by volunteering or donating.

We recently attended 'For the Health of It'; an inspiring community wellness event dedicated to total mind-body-soul wellbeing. With engaging speakers, active breaks, and a vibrant resource fair, the event brought people together to explore what it means to live their healthiest life.

PAHS Fund Development Officer, Emiko (Right), and dedicated PAHS volunteer, Jackie (Left), connected with community members at our awareness table. With nearly 200 attendees, it was a wonderful opportunity to share information about our FREE grief and palliative support programs. πŸ•ŠοΈ

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and congratulations to the winner of our PAHS Thrift-curated gift basket! 🌟🎁

Today is National Philanthropy Day – a time to celebrate the generosity, compassion, and community spirit that make our work possible. πŸ’™

We’re especially proud of our incredible volunteers who recently levelled up by completing their Volunteer Training Level 2. Their commitment strengthens the care and comfort we’re able to offer to those we serve every day.

To every volunteer, donor, and supporter – thank you. Your caring helps uplift our community and ensures we can continue providing FREE, vital grief and palliative support programs to those who need them most. πŸ•ŠοΈ

As we approach Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of all who have served, and those who continue to serve, in the pursuit of peace. Their courage reminds us of the importance of compassion, community, and caring for one another.

Our Supportive Care Centre will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Remembrance Day. We will resume regular business hours on Wednesday, November 12th.

If you or someone you know is in urgent need of support while we are away, please reach out to the Fraser Health Crisis Line at 604-951-8855, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. πŸ’™πŸ•ŠοΈ

The Tranquility Garden at Melville Hospice Home got into the Halloween spirit last week! πŸ‚πŸŽƒ

This peaceful space was dressed up with cheerful jack-o’-lanterns and touches of fall charm. For clients and families staying at the Home, the garden offers moments of calm and connection and acts as a gentle reminder that beauty and joy can be found even in times of great tenderness and transition. πŸŒ±πŸ˜ŒπŸ•ŠοΈ

When Doves Cry… you know it must be Halloween at Peace Arch Hospice Society! πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’§πŸ˜‚

This year, our team split into distinct squads – from Minions of Compassion, to a special visit from Prince and his winged entourage. Some of us rocked our individuality with spooktacular solo flare but everybody got into the Halloween Spirit! πŸ’œπŸͺ½

A heartfelt thank-you to Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre (Dignity Memorial) for hosting their wonderful Health & Wellness Expo in September and for supporting Peace Arch Hospice Society through their event. πŸ’“

We were honoured to be part of the day, sharing information about our FREE grief and palliative programs and connecting with so many community members. πŸ€—

πŸ“Έ Photo 1: Emi (PAHS Fund Development Officer), Kim (PAHS Volunteer), and Amanda (PAHS Executive Director) proudly represent Peace Arch Hospice Society at our awareness table.

πŸ“Έ Photo 2: Michelle, Caroline, and Sherry of Victory Memorial Park join Emi and Amanda for a group photo β€” a lovely moment that highlights the partnership and shared compassion that make events like this so special.

We are so grateful for Victory's generosity as a portion of their event proceeds was donated to Peace Arch Hospice Society. Your generosity helps bring comfort, care, and connection to our community. πŸ’™πŸ•ŠοΈ
