Don - Part 2 - Extreme case of Neurfibromatosis (NF-1)
For more than 30 years, an NF 1 tumor has grown on Don’s back, slowly reshaping his body and his life. Now, Don and Dr. Ryan Osborne are stepping into an extraordinarily risky journey together. This is not a routine surgery. It is complex, dangerous, and filled with unknowns, demanding precision, endurance, and courage at every stage.

Behind the operating room doors is a family carrying a heavy emotional weight. Don’s wife has lived alongside this disease for decades, watching the toll it has taken on the man she loves, holding fear and hope at the same time as she faces the unknown while hoping for life changing relief.

After seeing Dr. Ryan Osborne on the show “Take my tumor”remove a large plexiform neurofibroma from the back of a young lady, Donald reached out. Dr. Osborne travels to Winnipeg to determine whether or not Donald would be a candidate for surgery.

Mark Linger has been suffering with immense pain caused by having Eagle Syndrome. It has been completely debilitating and left him with extreme depression. He has not been able to work and spends most of his days laying in bed. He undergoes surgery with Eagle Syndrome Specialist, Dr. Ryan Osborne (Osborne Head and Neck Institute). The Osborne Head and Neck Foundation is preparing for our Medical and Impact Mission to Accra, Ghana this October 2025 — a journey fueled by compassion, expertise, and a deep commitment to change.

Our team of specialists will be providing life-saving head and neck surgeries to those in the local community who would otherwise have no access to this level of care. But the impact goes beyond the operating room — we’re also committed to training and working alongside local medical professionals, sharing knowledge that will empower them to care for their communities long after we’ve returned home.

While our medical mission focuses on delivering life-saving surgical care, our impact mission will center on transforming Agape Home, a safe haven for children ages 4–17 without families. This shelter offers not only a roof and a meal, but also education, mentorship, and life skills to help these children grow into independent, contributing members of society. Many of them return as adults to give back to the very place that gave them hope.
