Work of ART Coaching Andrea Troughton
Personal Trainer, Holistic Health Coach, Author & Speaker I love helping clients improve their lifestyles and their self-esteem.

I believe that your body truly is a work of art, and it is deserving of your love. I want to help people make physical activity a regular part of their lives, by helping them to find activities that bring them joy, while also working toward their health and fitness goals. I believe in educating my clients on how to nourish their bodies and make healthful food choices, while still enjoying and appreciating the foods that they eat. Health and wellness is a way of life, and enjoying the process and finding your personal balance is key.

People often ask what they’ll leave Self Care Day with, and the answer is more than just a “nice day” (though it will be that too).

You’ll leave with a calmer nervous system, a deeper sense of connection to your body, and simple self care practices you can return to in everyday life.

Throughout the day, movement and mobility, somatic practices, meditation, journaling, and gentle acupuncture work together to support presence, regulation, and stress relief. Each practice offers something different, but all are designed to help you feel more grounded, supported, and at ease in your body.

This day isn’t about fixing yourself or pushing for change. It’s about learning what helps you slow down, settle, and care for yourself in ways that actually feel accessible and supportive.

If you’ve been craving a pause that leaves you feeling resourced, not depleted, Self Care Day was created with that intention.

Sometimes choosing to care for yourself in a world that feels out of control is an act of resistance. Not the loud, performative kind, but the quiet, deeply human choice to slow down, soften, and tend to your needs when everything around you says to keep pushing.

Remember: You deserve care, even and especially, when the world feels heavy.

I am truly excited about everything that this Self Care Day has to offer this year! Each activity we’ll be doing serves its own unique purpose and is a tool that participants can come back to after the day is done. But what is so special about this event is how each of these activities and practices complements one another, and ultimately helps improve our overall sense of mind-body connection, and ability to manage stress and regulate the nervous system more effectively.

When it comes down to it, each of the activities has one very important thing in common. Presence.

Somatic mobility is about getting grounded in your body, connecting with its sensations and the emotions that can come with them. Doing so both requires us to be present in that moment, and helps build our capacity for presence in other moments.

The same duality of presence, both requiring and creating, is true of meditation and journaling too, simply through different avenues. Meanwhile, acupuncture helps soften the nervous system and settle the body, helping facilitate greater presence during meditation and beyond.

Self Care Day is about more than setting aside a few hours for yourself. It’s a day that has been desigend to help you set yourself up for continued self care and stress management long after the day is done. And I would love for you to join me (link in bio).

Eating is more than just a way to meet your energy and nutrient needs. It’s an emotional, cultural, and ideally, pleasurable experience.

It’s safe and completely normal to eat past comfortable fullness sometimes. And at the same time…

If it’s happening often and leading to physical discomfort or stress, it may be worth exploring how you can make your eating experiences more satisfying.

Happy Galentine’s Day 💕

Today feels like a good day to celebrate the women who show up for us. The ones who listen without trying to fix. The ones who check in, hold space, and remind us we’re not alone, even on hard days.

Self care doesn’t only live in what we do for ourselves. It also lives in the care we offer one another.

If there’s someone in your life who could really use a day of rest, care, and support (maybe the friend who’s always doing the most for everyone else), I’d love for you to nominate them for a gifted ticket to Self Care Day ticket generously sponsored by Dr. Anna Winner of Whitemud Crossing Chiropractors, .yeg.

💌 Nominations are open now (link in my bio)
💌 One recipient will be chosen Feb 15, and another Feb 21

Here’s to friendship, care, and a little extra love today!

If you are just looking to care for yourself and be more active, it’s time to let go of the expectation that there is a “right” way to do it and ditch the “all or nothing” mindset when it comes to exercise.

Focus on moving in ways that will keep you coming back, and most importantly, practice self compassion.

Self Care Day was created as a space to slow down, release stress, and reconnect with yourself in a supportive, compassionate environment. And at the same time, I know that access to spaces like this isn’t always easy or available to everyone.

That’s why I’m so grateful to be offering two gifted tickets to Self Care Day, generously sponsored by Dr. Anna Winner of Whitemud Crossing Chiropractors, .yeg.

These tickets are intended for someone who might otherwise experience barriers to access. Someone who could really use a day to be cared for, supported, and held in community. And yes, that someone can be you.

If someone came to mind as you’re reading this, I invite you to nominate them by filling out the short form linked in my bio. All nominations will be kept private and received with care.

Recipients will be selected and contacted via email on February 15th and February 21st.

I’m so happy to introduce another one of the inspiring presenters who will be supporting Self Care Day: Release & Recenter 🤍

Christina, founder of Go Meditate, supports stressed, anxious, and burnt-out women in building sustainable meditation practices that foster healing, inner peace, and empowered living. Her work is grounded, compassionate, and deeply human. With over 20 years of experience, Christina brings a steady, heart-centred presence that helps people soften, settle, and reconnect with themselves in simple, accessible ways.

During Self Care Day, Christina will be guiding meditation practices designed to support nervous system regulation, inner calm, and a sense of coming home to yourself.

It’s such an honour to have her wisdom and care woven into this day.

I started my blog as a way to get back into writing consistently again after my book was published, and like “Choose Your Discomfort”, a lot of what I share on my blog is personal.

Writing has always been therapeutic for me. It allows me to express myself and to work through issues and ideas. I write about my life, my mental health, my healing, and my learning. I also write about my work, which feels just as personal since my career was built by my own pursuit of health, healing, and happiness.

2025 was the first full year of my blog, and I shared a monthly series about ADHD and my experience navigating the process of diagnosis and treatment. It was an emotional year, but ultimately a wonderful one, and I’m ready to shift gears.

This year, I’m allowing myself to explore more broadly. You’ll still see plenty about me and my journey, but you can also expect content about:
⭐️ Movement and exercise, food and eating, and other self care practices
⭐️ Somatics and body-based mental health strategies
⭐️ Intersections between health and wellness, and social circumstances
⭐️ And other musings of a body neutral, trauma informed, health and fitness coach with a passion for accessible wellness

You’re always welcome to read along.🧡
