Our champion for HB 454 – PTA Supervision – is Jyndia Ruff, an APTA Montana member who made this bill a reality. She wrote the bill, secured a legislative sponsor, and got it introduced into committee.

At the time, APTA Montana did not have the capacity to take on another bill (we already had three bills running). But for Jyndia, this effort was personal. She understood the significance of this legislation for herself, her PTA, her patients, and the broader Montana physical therapy community. Without her determination and hard work, HB 454 would not have moved forward this year.

Jyndia is also a mother and brought her daughter to the Montana Capitol today to witness the second reading of HB 454 on the Senate floor — a powerful example of civic engagement and leadership.

Our champion, Rep. Ed Buttrey from Great Falls, has been instrumental in the success of HB 585 Medicaid Reimbursement. His attention to detail and deep understanding as a business owner made this legislation possible. Without his dedication and expertise, this bill would not have come to fruition.

Another Big Win!!! HB 585 Medicaid Reimbursement passed Montana Senate Finance and Claims Committee 12-10.

This was our biggest and scariest hurdle.

Next Steps:
1. Third reading Montana Senate floor
2. Because there was a friendly amendment on HB 585 - it will go back to the Montana House floor for another vote
3. Governors desk for signature
