Supplement branding is hilariously absurd, so this was fun.

Sour skittles are severely underrated, in my humble opinion. Maybe this will help sales a little bit

The front of the label will selectively tell you the good things about a product and hide the rest. Don’t trust ‘em.

I got a root canal today and scrambled to put this together last night knowing I wouldn’t be up for it today SO my example could have been better, but it’s good enough to illustrate the point so we’re going with it.

A label can highlight any aspect it chooses to make a product sound appealing. If it sounds too good to be true, it very well might be.

Read the ingredients and the nutrition facts if you want to know what’s actually in a product. It won’t fail you.

A nutrition guide for you and all your macro needs🫡

I’ve made a LOT of these guides over the past 7 years, and now I’m going through and updating as many as I can with current menus, along with adding saturated fat and sodium.

I dont personally pay close attention to either of those in my own life, but with so many people conscious of them, I want to incorporate them in addition to macros.

As a reminder: you dont have to eat fast food at all. I dont care one way or the other. I make these guides to help you make informed decisions so that if you are going to enjoy fast food, you can see how it aligns with your goals.

OK that’s enough disclaimers. What other fast food guides do you wanna see??

A quick rundown of six protein snacks and whether or not they’re worth it. This is strictly a taste review not taking into account ingredients, macros, or price.

1) Ghost protein bars…blah.

2) Nick’s protein bars…. blah.

3) Quest elote chips 🤌 They seem to always nail the flavor. (My top 3 are still spicy sweet chili, hot & spicy, and taco)

4) Quest donuts are very disappointing though. Way too dry and crumbly.

5) Simple Truth protein crackers are shockingly good. I only tried the dill pickle flavor but they have a ton of flavor.

6) .power are awesome. Tagging them to hopefully support their business a little. The serving sizes are very generous and they actually fill me up a ton which is very rare for protein snacks.

I try to write up reviews and post them to my site whenever I try a new snack, so you can go to reviews.cheatdaydesign.com to find those! I’m in the middle of a move and my life is chaotic right now so I haven’t written these up and just wanted to give you the quick rundown.

Have you tried any new protein products lately that are actually worth it?

I found the protein cups! So let’s break ‘em down.

This is forever one of my favorite rebrands because it’s extremely simple, yet very powerful. Since I’ve gotten a lot of new followers since I last shared this one, it’s time to bring it back.

This would 100000% work on me. If you saw this on shelves, would you grab it without thinking twice?

Protein milk is taking over. Here’s how it compares at and .

The Starbucks milk is estimated, but when I ran the calculations against Starbucks base recipes, it works out to be very close.

I built nutrition calculators for both of these, and you can find ‘em both by clicking my bio link or going to cheatdaydesign.com. You can customize any drink and see how the protein milk changes your go-to order.

I have worked VERY hard on building these tools and updating them every time there is a major menu update. They get stolen all the time, which is just how the internet is these days, so the best way you can support me is simply by sharing if you find ‘em useful! I’m always going to keep them free for you.

Note that with any drinks, the nutrition is always going to be rounded and estimated. Even the nutrition facts that Dunkin and Starbucks put out will never be 100% accurate because there are many variables at play. So you may notice very slight differences in calculator totals, but some slight variance is totally expected.

January means Girl Scout cookie season is upon us. Samoa season, specifically. One of the best cookies ever invented.

I know most people probably don’t care about calories or macros when choosing cookies. They’re cookies. But I first made this graphic 5 years ago (that’s wild) and I like to update it every year with the new cookie lineup, sooo here it is!

Exploremore is the new cookie this year, which is apparently rocky road inspired. Gone this year are the toast-yay and smores cookies, neither of which I tried because samoas are all I need forever and always.

Which cookie is your go-to?

Can branding make sugar look healthier? I guess you can be the judge!

My goal here is always to show you how powerful branding can be in the health food space. I dont want you to blindly choose a food because it sounds heathy- I want you to be able to cut through the noise and make those choices for yourself.

Also, this is not an anti-sugar post. I’m not here to fear monger, and I love me some sweets. But since sugar is the epitome of “unhealthy” for so many people, I thought this would be a fun one 🙃

’s new high-protein menu for all my friends tracking their macros in the new year! Swipe ➡️ for the rest of the menu too.

Chipotle’s new high protein menu is extremely uninspiring- they’re all basically combinations of chicken, fajita veggies, and cheese. Blah. And they do offer meat in a cup now too. Again, uninspiring, but hey, it says protein.

If you prefer to build your own order, the second slide has the full menu for ya so you can get a little more creative.

As I make these guides going forward, I am also doing my best to include more than just the macros, so you’ll also find saturated fat, fiber, and sodium where it makes sense.

Hey , that 100g protein burrito sounds insane. Put me down for one next week.

There’s a reason you see stuff like this all the time…because it works.

Rustic = natural. Selectively highlight the “good” aspects to bury the “bad” stuff. Create a healthy sounding brand name with no real meaning whatsoever. Boom, healthy.

These three things are the core of what I do with my health food rebrands, and if I want to frame something as “healthy,” these are usually great places to start.

Not to say that any time you see these things it comes from a dishonest place, but it’s an interesting thing to pay attention to!

When the nerdy 90s kid gets to customize his own home gym, this is what happens.

To anyone starting their own home gym in 2026, my main recommendation is make it your own! I got these 2 custom decals printed from for my cable towers and it is EASILY my favorite part of my gym.

I put these files together myself- one for my childhood obsession of TMNT, and the other to show some love to all the cartoons I grew up with in 90s and early 2000s. A couple of them were purposely left off (looking at you, Invader Zim) but otherwise every Nick show in my arsenal is represented!

This is not sponsored. This is just a genuine shoutout for a small company that helped me make my home gym something to be proud of. If a home gym is on the to-do list this year, some fun decals are a great addition.

Your yearly reminder that you don’t owe anyone any explanation. Enjoy allllllll the treats.

Especially anything sugar cookies related. ‘Tis the season.
