Marcus Aurelius (121–180 CE) was a Roman emperor and Stoic philosopher, often remembered as the "Philosopher King." Ruling from 161 to 180 CE, he led the Roman Empire during times of war, plague, and economic hardship, embodying wisdom, resilience, and leadership.

His personal writings, compiled as Meditations, reflect his Stoic beliefs and provide timeless guidance on self-discipline, duty, and inner peace. Written during military campaigns, Meditations remains a cornerstone of Stoic philosophy and a source of inspiration for leaders and thinkers worldwide.

Marcus Aurelius is celebrated for his commitment to virtue, justice, and rationality, leaving a lasting legacy as both a ruler and a philosopher.
