🌿 Medical Monday | Fall Prevention Awareness Day 🌿
Today, 22 September, we recognize Fall Prevention Awareness Day – a reminder that preventing falls can save lives, especially among older adults. 🚶♀️🧠
Falls are one of the leading causes of head injuries and spinal problems. While some falls may seem minor, they can sometimes cause hidden injuries that require urgent medical attention.
⚠️ When to See a Neurosurgeon After a Fall:
🔹 Persistent or severe headache
🔹 Loss of consciousness, confusion, or memory gaps
🔹 Weakness, numbness, or difficulty moving arms/legs
🔹 Trouble with balance, walking, or coordination
🔹 Blurred vision, slurred speech, or dizziness
🔹 Severe back or neck pain
✅ Preventing falls is just as important as knowing when to seek help. Simple steps like removing loose rugs, installing grab bars, improving lighting, and using supportive footwear can go a long way in keeping you or your loved ones safe.
💛 Let’s work together to protect brain and spine health – because one fall can change everything.
