⚠️ HEAT ALERT: PLEASE READ ☀️
The SA Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for parts of the Western & Northern Cape.
Temperatures are expected to hit 30–40°C — and that’s not just “a bit hot”, that’s strain-on-the-body hot.
A few non-negotiables for the next few days:
💧 Hydrate properly
Sip water regularly — don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
If you’re sweating a lot, add electrolytes.
🧴 Protect your skin
Use high-SPF sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours (more if swimming or sweating).
👕 Dress for sun safety, not fashion
Loose, light-coloured clothing, hats, sunglasses.
Your future self will approve.
🕒 Avoid peak heat
Limit outdoor activity between 10:00–16:00.
Shade breaks are not optional.
🚨 Know the warning signs
Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, weakness or confusion = act fast and seek medical help.
This kind of heat catches people off guard.
Please take it seriously — and look out for kids, the elderly, and anyone exercising outdoors.

Die SA Weerdiens het ’n hittewaarskuwing uitgereik vir dele van die Wes- en Noord-Kaap.
Temperature kan 30–40°C bereik — dis nie net ongemaklik nie, dis gevaarlik.
’n Paar belangrike reëls vir die volgende dae:
💧 Hidreer behoorlik
Drink gereeld water — moenie wag tot jy dors is nie.
As jy baie sweet, gebruik elektroliete.
🧴 Beskerm jou vel
Gebruik hoë-SPF sonbrandroom en smeer weer elke 2 uur.
👕 Klere maak saak
Ligte, lospassende klere, hoede en sonbrille help regtig.
🕒 Vermy spitstye
Beperk buitelugaktiwiteite tussen 10:00–16:00.
Neem gereelde skadu-pouses.
🚨 Ken die gevaartekens
Erge sweet, duiseligheid, naarheid, swakheid of verwarring = kry hulp dadelik.
