🌟 What a Day! 🌟
Our very first Potjiekos Competition this past Saturday was a sizzling success! 🔥 For a bunch of first-timers, we pulled off something truly special — and we’ve learned heaps for next time (yes, there will be a next time 😉).
A massive thank you to everyone who joined, stirred, tasted, and cheered us on. The atmosphere was warm, the pots were bubbling, and the spirit of community was alive and well!
🥇 Drumroll please...
The winners of the Best Overall Potjie were none other than the talented chefs from Western Province Catering, proudly representing the GASH Team (George and Annie Starck Homes)! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 Dominico, Pinkie, Ainslee and Colla ♥
According to our fabulous celebrity judges — Jenny Morris, Ivan Botha, Mila Guy, and Bennie Fourie — their pot was the standout of the day. Flavour, flair, and heart in every bite!

We’re already looking forward to the next round... with even more pots, more fun, and more delicious memories.

Eureka Aftreeoord hou nie net 'n potjiekoskompetisie nie — ons kook vir 'n saak! Hierdie Saterdag, 8 November 2025, samel ons fondse in vir Arbeidsterapie in ons Sorgeenheid, en die opwinding borrel behoorlik!

Ons is bevoorreg om Dr. Jacques Saayman, ons kampvegter in Ierland, aan boord te hê. Potjies sal prut in Bellville, maar ook in Ierland, Duitsland, Worcester, Port Shepstone en Johannesburg!

🎉 Can you feel it? Potjie Fever is going GLOBAL! 🌍

Eureka Retirement Village is not just hosting a potjiekos competition — we’re cooking for a cause! This Saturday, 8 November 2025, we’re raising funds for Occupational Therapy in our Frailcare facility, and the excitement is simmering!

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Jacques Saayman, our champion based in Ireland, leading the charge internationally. Potjies will be bubbling in Bellville, but also in Ireland, Germany, Worcester, Port Shepstone, and Johannesburg!
🔥 Global Contestants will be judged on:

Spirit

And guess who gets to help choose the winners? YOU! 🫵

We’ll select the top 3 entries, and then open it up to our Facebook friends to vote for the External Potjie Champions!
