Today is my last day of seeing patients at Brugstreet…
Twelve years ago, I stepped onto the fields of Paarl Boys’ High School. I could never have imagined the depth of the journey that awaited me. In South African school sport, we do not just develop athletes—we develop character, community, and young men who learn to stand tall in the face of pressure, expectation, and ambition.
I have had the privilege of witnessing the full spectrum of sport: the hard-earned victories, the heartbreak of injury, the power of teamwork, and the resilience that defines our athletes. I have seen boys become leaders, teammates become brothers, and every challenge turn into a lesson that extends far beyond the final whistle.
Working with Paarl Boys’ High School has pushed me to grow—not only as a clinician, but as a person. It has taught me the importance of trust between the medical team and coaches, the responsibility of protecting young bodies in high-performance environments, and the enormous pride that comes from being part of something so deeply rooted in tradition and excellence within South African school sport.
The journey was never only about strapping ankles or managing injuries. It was about the early mornings in winter, the Friday-night nerves, the sideline intensity, the celebrations, the disappointments, and the privilege of standing behind players who gave everything for a bagde and a dream.
Twelve years at Paarl Boys’ High School is more than a milestone—it is a heartbeat of memories, growth, and gratitude. To the athletes, coaches, staff, and parents: thank you for the trust, the respect, the laughs, the lessons, and the legacy we have built together.
Here’s to the shared moments, the blue and white and the blue, and the continued belief in the future of South Africa and our Boys.
Thank you . Forever my family.
I would like to welcome to , who will take over my position from 1 January 2026. I have your back 💙
