If your hyperpigmentation isn’t improving no matter how many products you try… this video is for you. 👀✨
As a Somatologist, I see this all the time, so let’s talk about the real reasons those dark spots aren’t fading.
1️⃣ You’re exfoliating wrong
Harsh scrubs or over-exfoliating can inflame the skin and make pigmentation worse. Instead, choose gentle exfoliants like fruit acids or enzymes that resurface the skin without irritation.
2️⃣ You’re not consistent with sunscreen
Even a few minutes of unprotected sun exposure can undo weeks of progress. UV light keeps pigment cells active, so daily sunscreen is non-negotiable.
Pro tip: use a **tinted sunscreen with iron oxides** to help protect against visible light, or choose one with pigment inhibitors. ☀️
3️⃣ It might be melasma
Melasma is often triggered by genetics, hormones, and other internal factors. It usually doesn’t respond to over-the-counter products alone. This is where seeing an aesthetic therapist for professional treatments and medical-grade skincare can make the biggest difference.
Hyperpigmentation isn’t just about buying more products—it’s about using the *right* approach for your skin. 🤍
