This tiny, often-neglected substance can disrupt the functionality of your hearing device as it naturally accumulates in the ear canal and can enter the different parts of your hearing aid, leading to malfunctions.

👂Hearing loss can range from mild to severe and may only occur at certain frequencies. It's crucial to pay attention to your child's behavior and communication patterns as certain actions could be indicative of hearing difficulties.

👂Remember, it's ideal to have a child's hearing checked by an audiologist at birth, at one year, three years, and five years of age, or at any time that they may exhibit issues like the ones below.

Permanent hearing loss can significantly impact a baby's development. Early detection can increase their chances of developing language, speech, and communication skills and foster a strong bond with their family or guardians from an early age.

It's not uncommon for an audiologist to visit infants in the private sector to check their hearing. However, if you missed this service in the hospital, make sure you schedule an appointment with an audiologist to assess your baby's hearing.
