Many of us were taught, often through pain, that slowing down, feeling soft, or saying no was selfish. Trauma has a way of wiring guilt into places where care should live. Healing isn’t about becoming harder or stronger — it’s about giving yourself permission to choose rest, joy, and boundaries without apology.
You’re not doing anything wrong by choosing yourself. You’re unlearning what hurt you.
