👅This is probably the most asked question by new mommies.

And I am so happy and grateful for the most, up-to-date, evidence-based research, that shows.. NO, not all T. T's need to be surgically released!!

So, what do I look for?

I look at the oral function (latch and positioning also). And, if a tongue tie with functional complications, causes compensations, only then do we address it. And not always surgery first.

If your baby shows some COMPENSATIONS, please get into contact with me.

*compensations can be due to less optimal latch and positioning aswell.

🚨Seeing that everyone here on Social Media has been on the apology train, I thought to catch a ride as well...

I have been taught that, a baby's tongue, to their palate when sleeping, is a sign that there is trapped air and they need to burp..

Well, during my recent GOLD Tongue-Tie Online Symposium I have learnt that a healthy RESTING tongue position, is a baby's tongue against their palate. As shown in this photo. 👇🏼

So, I guess the saying "you are never too old to learn something new" stays true 😜

Thus, I offer my sincerest apology for trusting this old wives' tale.

From now on... 😝... Trusting the evidence-based research! 💡

⚠️Powerful information I was reminded of today!

I am greatful to learn of new ways to help mothers improve breastfeeding, without JUST releasing a tongue tie.

Sometimes that is what is necessary. But thankfully, research helps us grow and understand more.
