Hospice Bloemfontein offers care and support to patients with life-threatening illness, but also provides services to family members.
In 2025 their range of services will include a quarterly, 6-week grief support group programme, to help those who have lost someone dear to them to feel & process their emotions, understand their grief as a healthy, adaptive response to loss and find ways to create a sense of meaning and continued connection with their loved one, with others who are experiencing something similar.

This week was corporate wellness week and our practice was invited to Trans-50 Association Fichardtpark to represent the services that Occupational Therapists can render in assisting caregivers to care for themselves.
We enjoyed teaching breathing techniques, providing sensory nourishment through hand massage and essential oils, playing Jenga and having a laugh as well as giving an opportunity for people to spend time colouring an inspiring picture.

If you are caring for someone - remember the importance of also caring for yourself!
