โจ Itโs Occupational Therapy Week! โจ
This week, we shine a light on the incredible role occupational therapists (OTs) play in supporting people to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives. ๐
So, what is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy helps people of all ages do the things that matter most to themโwhether itโs dressing, cooking, working, studying, caring for loved ones, or enjoying hobbies. These everyday activities are what we call โoccupations.โ
๐ก An OT might:
Adapt environments and tools to make life more accessible.
Teach strategies to manage pain, fatigue, or stress.
Support rehab after a stroke, injury, or accident.
Help children develop motor, social, and play skills.
Encourage independence in daily activities like cooking, bathing, and driving.
This week (and every week), letโs celebrate the creativity, compassion, and problem-solving that occupational therapists bring to individuals, families, and communities every day. ๐
