VR MED proudly participated with medical standby in the Ministerial Outreach Programme led by the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, in Bloemfontein.

This initiative focuses on investing in young talent, inclusion, and community development through sport.

Two multipurpose sport facilities were handed over to Heatherdale Secondary School and Pholoho Special School, complete with essential equipment and attire.

The handover ceremonies were held on 27 April 2026, at the respective schools.

One female was assessed on the scene and transported to Pelenomi hospital for further treatment.

This evening, VR MED attended to an overturned vehicle in close proximity to Jim Fouche school.

Eye witnesses informed us that the parties involved had vacated the scene before authorities arrived.

The South African Police Service is investigating the matter.

VR MED responded with various other emergency services to the intersection of McGregor and the N8 for a commuter vs car accident.

Luckily there were no serious injuries and patients were assessed on the scene.

No weather could stop the excitement of the Laaities and Ladies Dagsorg young ones as they were all ears to learn more and ask questions.

We had loads of fun and glad to say we had some future paramedics that did not want to get out of the ambulance and that's good enough for us 😂

VRMED attended to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Du Plessis and R64 Dealsville road.

The incident involved two vehicles and three patients. One patient with serious injuries was transported to Mediclinic Hospital with VR MED.

A second patient with injuries was transported to Rosepark with ER24. The third patient was treated at the scene but RHT.

VR MED provided emergency response to a collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle at the Currie and Vereeniging intersection.

One patient with serious injuries was assessed and taken to Palenomi Trauma Centre.

Emergency services including VR MED, Life EMS, ER24, and Afriforum operated at the scene.

This response vehicle, having been operational for merely a year, has successfully attended to in excess of 394 emergency calls.
