👁️ ’n Eerste vir die Vrystaat! 🎉

Ons is ongelooflik trots op Dr Lynette Venter, wat die eerste CAIRS-oogoperasie (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments) in die Vrystaat uitgevoer het – ’n baanbrekende stap in die behandeling van keratokonus! 🏥

CAIRS is ’n gevorderde chirurgiese tegniek waar natuurlike weefsel gebruik word om die kornea te versterk en te stabiliseer – ’n groot verbetering op tradisionele ring-implantings. Dit gee pasiënte nuwe hoop vir beter sig sonder onmiddellike korneaoorplanting.

We are extremely proud of Dr Lynette Venter, who has performed the first CAIRS eye surgery (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments) in the Free State – a groundbreaking achievement in the treatment of keratoconus! 🏥

CAIRS is an advanced surgical technique that uses natural donor tissue to strengthen and stabilize the cornea – a major improvement over synthetic ring implants. It offers patients renewed hope for clearer vision without needing a full corneal transplant.

We asked her a question before she started – What is the fact about the eye that surprised you the most? Her answer was as innovative as she is – The eye is the most used muscle in the body and a human blinks about 15 – 20 times a minute!

Ons het haar ‘n vraag gevra voordat sy begin het – Wat is die feit oor die oog wat jou die meeste verbaas het? Haar antwoord was net so borrelend soos sy is – Die oog is die mees gebruikte spier in die liggaam en ‘n mens knip ongeveer 15 – 20 keer per minuut!
