Optimal Movement provides multi-disciplinary professionals a convenient with thought leading content by means of short CPD workshops and courses. Our facilitated short courses are presented right across Southern Africa and has been equipping practitioners with the best clinical and research based knowledge for over 6 years. We specialized as a CPD Service provider in the field of orthopaedic rehabilitation and provide Evidence Based Medicine(EBM) information on relevant topics. The focus of our content is in line with the research market worldwide. As per definition, currently is the market moving to the concept of optimal loading during rehabilitation interventions, which we translated into private practice to provide a learning experience that is unique in itself.

Load is a clinical tool.
Prescribe it.
Progress it.
Don’t fear it.

Rehab isn’t about avoiding stress, it’s about applying the right stress at the right time for the right outcome.

When load is dosed with intent, it becomes the driver of adaptation, confidence, and durable return to performance.

This is how modern rehab is done.
This is TRIPP and you can get your CPD Points at www.tripp.co.za

REST DIDN’T FIX IT.
MOVEMENT DID.

Rehab isn’t about stopping.
It’s about progressing, intelligently, intentionally, and under load.

Pain doesn’t disappear because athletes do less.
It resolves when they restore capacity, confidence, and control.

Learn how to progress movement safely and effectively in our TRIPP content.

Back injuries spike in December because people lift, twist, and reach in awkward positions after long periods of sitting, travelling, or general fatigue. Add rushed holiday timelines and poor load planning, and the lumbar spine becomes the victim of compensations rather than controlled movement. The best prevention strategy is simple: break tasks into smaller bouts, keep loads close to the body, avoid twisting under load, and slow down, because most December back injuries happen when people try to do too much, too quickly.

Chaos, not load, is what overwhelms tissues! When progression is predictable, gradual, and measurable, the musculoskeletal system adapts remarkably well across tendons, bone, and muscle. But random spikes in volume or intensity bypass this adaptive window, so clinicians should guide patients toward steady, structured progressions that build resilience rather than test it.

There are awesome case studies on www.tripp.co.za where you can follow the rehab journeys of how load was used to empower successful tendon rehab!! Brilliant content...

Running on soft sand isn’t inherently dangerous, but it dramatically increases calf, Achilles, and foot-intrinsic load compared to firm surfaces, especially for runners without prior exposure. The combination of unstable ground, greater ankle dorsiflexion demand, and reduced elastic recoil means unaccustomed runners’ fatigue faster and compensate poorly. If patients want to include beach running, advise them to start with very short bouts, stay on firmer sand initially, and avoid sudden accelerations or sharp turns until their tissues adapt.

Every consultation teaches something new - slow down long enough to notice this. Your last patient often reveals more about your clinical blind spots than any textbook or course. When clinicians build a habit of reflection, they don’t just treat better, they grow into more intentional, more impactful practitioners.

If you feel like exploring how you can keep on growing in your clinical environment, check out www.tripp.co.za - we aim to empower clinicians!

Every December brings injury falls, DIY strains, and beach sprains, the same predictable injury patterns clinicians see year after year.

As holiday enthusiasm rises, people often push beyond their usual capacity, making vigilance more valuable than over-eager activity. Remind your patients that consistency is the currency of a healthy body. Small, steady actions always outperform the “all-in December sprint.”
