Priority-Care Ambulance Service will be hosting a wellness day on Saturday 21 March 2026 at the main entrance of Pick & Pay Southern Centre ,Fichardtpark together with Fichardtpark Neighbourhood Association and Ecomed Medical Bloemfontein.

We Will be conducting Free Wellness Checks.

Feel free to pop in & come and say hello to our paramedics and get your vitals checked for free.

A truck is reportedly on fire on the N1 North, just past the Engen 1Stop.

Officers and emergency services are on-scene and this is already causing left-lane traffic disruptions.

Caution is advised, and motorists are being asked to find alternative routes.

Priority-Care Ambulance Service participated in a training exercise that was held by 87 helicopter flying school from bloemspruit airforce base and freestate college of emergency care.

Various other emergency services including Vrmed, netcare911, lifeEMS and members from SARZA - Free State participated in this exercise that was held in and around bloemfontein today.

Rescue personel was hoisted from Bophelo house and off loaded at Universitas hospital. Others were hoisted in specialized equipment into a Agusta A109 helicopter from 87 helicopter flying school. Pilots also had to land in the toyota freestate rugby stadium.

The purpose of the exercise was to test the skills of the pilots aswell as flight engineers and rescue personel.

Priority-Care Ambulance Service responded swiftly on Wednesday morning to reports of a truck that overturned on the R702 close to Grootvlei prison in Bloemfontein.

Emergency services from VRmed, Netcare911 and Provincial EMS was quick to arrive on scene shortly after 11:00
Mangaung Fire and Rescue and FIRE OPS SA - Bloemfontein had to use jaws of life and various other equipment to free the 4 trapped occupants from the vehicle.
Sadly one of the occupants sustained fatal injuries while 3 others sustained critical injuries.

The road was closed due to a fuel spill from a tank that was on the back of the truck. The exact cause of the collision is subject to police invesitgation.
