On Monday, we spoke about how our kidneys are connected to our overall health. Just as important is understanding how your health needs are connected to the benefits you are legally entitled to through your medical aid.

Many South Africans don't realize that all medical aids are required by law to cover Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs). This includes GP visits and care for many chronic conditions. It’s your right to have this essential care covered. Feeling empowered about your health means knowing your rights, too.
