The benefits of counselling

Counselling can lead to significant positive changes for individuals struggling with anger in their relationships. These benefits include:

Improved emotional awareness: Clients gain a deeper understanding of their emotional landscape, which can lead to more nuanced and effective responses to challenging situations.
Enhanced communication skills: Through practising new communication techniques, individuals can express their needs and concerns more clearly and constructively.
Better relationships: As clients learn to manage their anger and address underlying emotional issues, they often experience more fulfilling and harmonious relationships with friends and family.
Increased self-esteem: Successfully navigating emotional challenges can boost self-confidence and self-worth, fostering a more positive self-image.

A glimmer is a satisfying sensory delight that fills someone with fervent ecstasy. It is the opposite of a trigger (a stimulus perceived as threatening and unsafe). Autistic people often experience the sensory world with hyper-attunement, creative alliance and whimsy. These glimmers have been collected from a sample of autistic people and do not represent the experience of ALL autistic people.

When kids have big emotions, we tend to think they are being overly sensitive, that they need more resilience. Most of the time it is because there is a lot happening for the child that we can't see and don't know, that is pushing them beyond their means of coping. Instead we can change the response from they are overreacting, to seeing a child who has a lot happen for them, they are doing the best they can. They need our help not judgement.
