After years of living with extreme anxiety and trauma, I truly believed my body would never regain its energy or vitality. When my mind finally realised it was safe, my body collapsed into exhaustion. The tiredness was overwhelming. I had no energy. Even getting out of bed in the morning felt like an impossible task.

“How much longer?”
“When will I feel better?”
“When will I feel like me again?”

The truth is, we don’t always know how long the body needs to rest, repair, and restore itself after prolonged survival mode. Healing isn’t linear, and it certainly doesn’t follow a schedule.

So be gentle.
Be patient.
Be kind with yourself as your body learns safety at its own pace.

You are coming home to yourself, one soft step at a time

Living with trauma is like peeling an onion.
There’s a tough outer layer formed from surviving the initial pain, and as healing begins, you gently work through the layers beneath. Some layers lift easily, while others require time, support, and compassion. And just when you think you’ve reached the center, another layer may surface unexpectedly. Each new layer is not a setback—it’s simply another part of your story coming forward to be seen, cared for, and gently healed.

As you navigate these layers, it’s important to use the various support options available to you. Healing is not meant to be done alone.
Counselling, medical support, Reiki or other complementary therapies, support groups, and the care of family and friends can all help you move through each layer more safely and with greater strength.

There is no timeline and no right or wrong way—only your way, at your pace, with the support you choose.
