🚨 Testicular Pain is an Emergency – Don’t Ignore It!

Testicular Torsion: Time = Testicle

Sudden, severe testicular pain could be testicular torsion – a condition where the

⏳ This is a surgical emergency.
The sooner it’s diagnosed, the higher the chance of saving the testicle. Ideally within 4–6 hours.

Common Symptoms:
- Sudden, severe scrotal pain
- Swelling and redness
- Nausea and vomiting
- One testicle sitting higher than the other
- Pain waking a patient from sleep

🩻 How Ultrasound Helps:
A Doppler ultrasound is fast, non-invasive, and crucial in suspected torsion. It can:
- Assess blood flow to the testicle
- Differentiate torsion from infection (epididymo-orchitis)
- Help guide urgent surgical referral

In torsion, ultrasound typically shows reduced or absent blood flow compared to the normal side.

Early imaging saves time. Early treatment saves testicles.

Heel pain symptoms to watch for:

- Sharp pain with the first steps in the morning
- Pain after long periods of standing or walking
- Heel pain that improves with movement but returns later
- Tenderness under the heel or along the sole of the foot
- Ongoing pain despite rest or shoe changes

These are common signs of plantar fasciitis.
