Our Stroke & Brain Injury Support Group is a safe space to share your story, gain new insights, and connect with a network of peers who truly get it. Whether you are a survivor or a loved one, we’re here to walk this path with you.

After being involved in a car accident at the age of 11 that resulted in a spinal cord injury, she pursued her passion for understanding and helping others.

Through dedication and perseverance, she has now graduated with her Master's degree in Psychology from Stellenbosch University.

The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a traditional finish line, everyone races side by side to stay ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car.

On 10 May 2026, The Enable Centre team will be taking part in the Wings for Life World Run in Cape Town!

📍 Meet us at Vlei Rd in front of Green Point Athletics Track
📲 Download the Wings for Life World Run App
👥 Join Team Enable Centre
🕐 Race starts at 13:00 sharp

The Virtual Catcher Car begins 30 minutes later, starting at 14 km/h and steadily increasing speed until the last participants are caught.

We would love to see the entire Enable family there for this incredible event, supporting a great cause where all funds will go towards Spinal Cord Injury research.

We are pleased to welcome Taryn to the Enable Centre, where she joins the psychology team!

Taryn has a strong interest in neuropsychology, combining scientific rigor with a people-centred approach 🩵. Clinically trained at Groote Schuur and Red Cross Children’s Hospital 🏥, she has experience across a wide range of neuropsychological conditions in the South African context 🇿🇦. She is passionate about accessible, interdisciplinary care and is committed to supporting individuals with neurocognitive challenges, along with their families and communities. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor adventures 🌿 and spending time with family and friends 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.
