Standing Together Against Gender-Based Violence

Today, 21 November, Morton & Partners stands in solidarity with the victims and survivors of Gender-Based Violence — those affected directly and indirectly.

As an essential service, our doors remain open, and our teams remain ready to support every patient who walks through them. We are proud to be a safe, trusted space for women and children affected by violence. Our staff are trained to identify and appropriately report any cases of suspected abuse, ensuring that care goes beyond clinical support.

On Friday, our teams across all branches will be wearing black in solidarity — a symbolic reminder that GBV affects every community, and that we all have a role to play in standing against it.

To those who have suffered: we see you, we stand with you, and we remain committed to providing compassionate, safe care.

Honouring Inspiring Careers — and the Power of Growth at Morton & Partners

This November, we proudly celebrate the retirement of two remarkable women whose careers reflect what is possible when talent, dedication, and opportunity come together at Morton & Partners.

Together, Rowayda (almost 30 years with M&P) and Desiree (46 years with M&P) embody nearly eight decades of commitment — and their stories are powerful reminders that Morton & Partners is a place where people can grow, build meaningful careers, and find lifelong purpose in the work they do.

In her video message, Desiree reflects on how she worked her way up within the company over more than 40 years, showing that with hard work, passion, and the right support, long careers of learning and progression are not only possible, but celebrated here.

Rowayda’s journey echoes the same message: that every role matters, every contribution is valued, and that growth comes in many forms — through experience, dedication, and the relationships built along the way.

As we congratulate them on their well-earned retirements, we also celebrate the culture they helped shape: one where people can thrive, develop, and make a lasting impact.

Thank you, Rowayda and Desiree, for proving that a career is not just a job — it’s a journey.
And thank you for inspiring those who will follow in your footsteps.

10 Things You Need to Know About Radiology – Insights from Dr Elias Pretorius

Dr Elias Pretorius recently joined RSG's Drive Time show with Willem Pelser for the “10 Things You Need to Know” segment.

He shared how radiology lets us see inside the body without surgery, the role of radiologists as “gatekeepers of radiation”, the value of minimally invasive procedures, and how AI supports but does not replace radiologists.

Radiology influences over 70% of medical decisions and continues to evolve with faster, safer, and more personalized care.

Tune in this Thursday, 13 November at 16h40, as Dr Elias Pretorius joins on to chat about “10 Things You Need to Know About Radiology”

From how radiology helps diagnose disease to the technology behind your scans — it’s an insightful conversation you don’t want to miss!

Seems like the general public is split - let's ask our experts!

We asked the public: “Do all imaging expose you to radiation?”
Their answer: “Yup — every time you step into that room, you’re basically glowing after!” 😅

Our experts say: Not quite!

While X-rays and CT scans do use small amounts of radiation, other imaging methods like Ultrasound and MRI don’t use radiation at all.

Each imaging type has a specific purpose — and radiologists choose the safest, most effective option for your condition. So no, you won’t glow after your scan — but you will leave with the reassurance that you’re in expert hands.
