On 5 March 2026, the team from Vitanova Tissue Bank had the privilege of visiting Manenberg Secondary School in Cape Town.

During our visit, we handed over 44 pairs of school shoes to learners in need. Seeing the smiles and appreciation from the students was truly heartwarming.

We also had the opportunity to speak to approximately 400 learners and staff members, sharing more about tissue donation and how one donor has the power to transform many lives.

Moments like these remind us that awareness, compassion, and community support can make a real difference.

A heartfelt thank you to Manenberg Secondary School for the warm welcome and for giving us the opportunity to share a message of hope and generosity.

We were honoured to be part of Old Mutual South Africa's Occupational Health and Safety Day, together with Netcare911 and Netcare Transplant Coordinators.

It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with employees, highlight the importance of health and wellness, and raise awareness about organ and tissue donation.

Through these conversations, we aim to inspire action and help save lives.

In August, the Vitanova team was honoured to attend the Organ Donor Tribute Event at the Hugo Lambrechts Auditorium in Cape Town. It was a meaningful occasion celebrating our donor heroes and the incredible gift of life, while sharing moments of gratitude and remembrance with donor families and recipients. Thank you for this beautiful reminder of what organ and tissue donation is truly about.

Vitanova was honoured to participate in ABSA Occupational Health & Safety Day. From hands-on first aid training with Nosa to resuscitation for babies and adults with Netcare 911. Vitanova in collaboration with the Netcare Transplant Team, we highlighted the life changing impact of organ and tissue donation. Every skill we learn reminds us how powerful giving the gift of life can be.

On 1 August, Vitanova visited the High School division of the Hope & Light Community Welfare initiative in Somerset West. The organisation is dedicated to improving young lives by giving children a sense of purpose and hope and the beautiful school gives learners the opportunity to receive a quality education so that they can dream of a better future.

We value our community and as part of our social responsibility we were privileged to hand over a few projectors, a digital microscope and other educational tools to support the work at Hope and Light School. At the same time, Laetitia, one of our donor coordinators, was able to share the message of Organ and Tissue Donation with learners.
